As promised CJ picks us up Thursday evening. We head South, deeper into the city. The warden gave me enough money for clothes, food and my books since I didn't get them with
Isabel.
Its almost 7 but the sun is still out. There are not as many people as I expected. Oliver says the city comes alive at night because its not as hot.
We park at a boutique shopping centre. The city is very organised.
There is fast food when you get in, groceries next, then household shops. Then luxurious shops. If its not a need its right at the back. We enter a small but classy dress shop. The dresses are simple but beautiful. Nothing you'll wear to a ball but they are suitable for meetings,
everyday wear etc.
We look around for 15 minutes before we move on to the next shop. This one specialises in jewellery. A small gold necklace catches my eye. It has a flame pendant. It speaks to me. I am a flame. I burn things and now my own fire has scotched me. Its perfect.
The bell above the door rings and I feel it. The heat, the pull, the tingles all over my body. I don't even have to look at him to know it. I won't give him the satisfaction of looking at him. If he wants to act like I'm stupid then so be it.
"Alpha" Oliver says.
Alpha! What the hell!
He doesn't reply.
" Zee-Anna, lets go" CJ says
"I'm gonna pay for this" I tell her.
"We are going to be late for our appointment, they won't let us in unless we are all there, come." she sound scared. Is she scared of Ace?
Why? We don't have an appointment to go anywhere.
I turn around and look at her panicked face " I want to pay for this necklace. You go I'll meet you there" I take my card and get ready to pay.
"Its fine",Ace says quietly.
I hear the door close then there is silence. I know he hasn't left. The pull is still there. His walking closer to me, its getting stronger and I'm feeling weaker.
"Thats a beautiful necklace" he says making me jump, I didn't realise he was that close. I stay quite.
"We need to talk." So now he wants to talk to me.
"There's nothing to talk about." I say.
His closer. The heat, its consuming me. I can smell him. Rain soap and something that belongs in nature. I like a clean man. No, I don't like him!
"You wanted answers, I have them." his breath smells like mint.
"What makes you think I want them now?"
He chuckles and my legs get weaker. What is happening to me? "If your happy, I'm happy." He turns around then walks out.
The lady gives me my necklace in a small bag. I thank the lady and walk out hoping to catch him,but his long gone, all he leaves behind is the smell of rain soap and wood. CJ and the girls are waiting for me. CJ looks pissed for some reason. I know its me but if she won't tell me whats going on then I can't cooperate.
We eat lunch, buy my books then head home. I'm still weak from my encounter with Ace.
