Chapter 9

Ace's point of view.

I knew what would happen when I found her. I've been told about it since I understood english.
I even had the opportunity to witness it. I wasn't aware of how strong it would be. The feeling of possessiveness. I know that the feeling can be good or bad. There is no way to prepare for it.

When I saw her  I was drowned in wanting. I wanted to mark her right there. To shield her from the praying eyes of those that envy her and those that desire her.
But I felt out of control, I  had to leave before I hurt her.

From what I've witnessed shes human which will be make it difficult to initiate her into the pack. It also puts me on edge. Knowing how fragile she is. How ignorant she is to the dangers of this world. Her being my mate makes her a target. So I won't claim her now. I need a bit more power to make sure i can protect her.

I've been watching her. Shes very beautiful but she does not brag about it. As bright as she is, she has a darkness to her. Secrets,guilt, demons that shes trying to run away from.
Despite all of this she is still the love of my life and soon I will claim her but I need to get my affairs in order.

Zee-Anna's point of view.

I'm wearing a simple long sleeved  black dress, I really should get more coloured clothing. Anyways, I pair them with black stilettos and put my hair up into a bun and leave a few curls at the sides.

I take my necklace out of the box.  There is no slip. That's weird. I don't remember paying for it.  Inside is a note with a stamp of an ace. That bastard. How did he do it? I was looking at him!

I won't wear the necklace. I don't want anything from him. It's a very beautiful piece of jewellery, but I can't have it as a reminder of him. Instead of throwing it away I'll give it to someone who wants it, I'm no spoiled brat.

CJ picks us put at 7. The warden knows where I'm going. He told me to be back before midnight, which shouldn't be a problem. The house belongs to Mack Jane. A senior who's famous for hosting the best parties. Typical, a rich kid who has nothing better to do then waste money.

Their house is a mini mansion. With fountains in the front yard and small golden lights that make it look magical. The windows are big and slightly tinted. The backyard has a pool with a waterfall and a slide. Dramatic much. But who am I to judge, if they can afford it then no problem I guess.

The house is full. There are kegs at every corner. Different kinds of alcohol  and snacks are going around. Its hard to fine a non- alcoholic drink but I eventually do.

CJ and the girls immediately take shots and then the crowd on the dance floor consume them. I might as well follow them. The music is so loud I can feel the vibrations in the air. I sway my hips to the beat avoiding the sticky hands of boys.

Soon I loosen up and dance for enjoyment. I make sure to only drink juice and have light snacks. See I can have fun and be responsible. The remix of " we found love" by Rihanna plays and I let it consume me. It takes me back to when life was simple.

When I was in love and didn't know anything would take me away from that love. I can still remember the way she smells, like sweets and mischief. The feel of her warm hands on mine. On me, in me,travelling, exploring , discovering. Her warmth and softness. To know that no one else could do the things I did to her. She was mine and I was hers. I miss that life. I miss that touch, the warmth, the security.
