The room fell silent at Freddy's outburst.
His voice shook as he sobbed quietly.
"What do you by that? How wasn't it your fault?" Nelson said, "You were the one found driving the car." He stood right in front of Freddy and glared at him once again.
"The information is right there." Nelson coldly said. "Well I can explain and there is evidence from the police backing up that it was not my fault." Freddy spat angrily.
Nelson gave him a distrusting look. But he gave him the floor to speak. "Speak Smith."
"It was the middle of the night.." Freddy began. "My father was bringing my friend, Bonnie and I home after going to a friend's birthday party." He continued to explain.
Rodney perked up when he heard the familiar name. "You mean Bonnie from the cafe?" He asked. Freddy nodded in response.
"I was sitting in the front and he was in the back. Dad was acting strange and he looked pale." Freddy explained, "Then he just blacked out."
Nelson's eyebrows rose a bit at this.
"And because Dad was out cold, the car began to drive faster because Dad's foot got stuck on the gas." "Turns out he had a stroke and that's why he blacked out." Freddy said as his voice continued to quake.
"So how were you found in the seat then?" Nelson asked.
"Well Dad normally didn't wear a seatbelt when he travelled a short distance." Freddy explained, "And he was picking up us from two blocks away from our street. So when he blacked out." He went on.
"I pushed him out of his seat and tried to steer the car. I tried as hard as I could but.." Freddy hiccupped on his words. "..I couldn't do it properly and we crashed into another car in the other lane." Freddy said painfully, "Bonnie and I almost died. But thankfully he alive.."
"He did lose his left arm though."
Freddy breathed heavily again, "Dad..didn't make it.."
Everyone was silent after Freddy's explanation. The room's silence was broken by Freddy speaking again, "The site you're looking on for the case hasn't changed nor updated in years." "It's best to find the case record on the area's website." Freddy ended.
Gary and Gloria looked a bit wary about the explanation but were sympathetic towards to Freddy. Amelia was still a bit tense but she could tell Freddy had been carrying some guilt from the accident despite it being 8 years ago. She decided to look up the case herself on her phone. Rodney was still thinking deeply, wondering if Freddy's story was true. He definitely wanted it to be true.
Nelson was nonetheless kindness nor sympathetic to Freddy. He did not believe him in the damn slightest.
"Do you really think I am going to believe that Smith?" Nelson spat. Freddy gulped a bit, "Of course you wouldn't. You never believe me." Freddy uttered out loud. Nelson glared at him and got up in his face. "Don't you dare play smart with me kid." Nelson lectured him. "We are both adults Nelson. I am not your child." Freddy talked back with disdain.
That pissed Nelson off.
"I want him out of my house." Nelson said which made everyone look at him with a look of disbelief. "What!?" Freddy exclaimed. "I do not believe you and I will never believe you." Nelson yelled at Freddy. "Father, you are being ridiculous!" Rodney yelled. "Rodney, be quiet. He need to get out." Nelson said,
"I do not want a murderer in my household."
The bodyguards began to carry Freddy out of the house. Rodney quickly got up and tried to ran towards the guards but his father blocked his path. "Dad, please move out of my way." Rodney asked his father. "Rodney, go back to your mother."
