A/N: Ah yes, Gryffindor House parties, the best source of teenage wizard drama :D

After tearing her gaze away from Fred and the girl he was dancing with across the common room, amidst the crowd of celebrating Gryffindors, Emilia busied herself by inspecting the assortment of treats on the table next to the barrel of Butterbeer.

She nodded her head along with the upbeat music playing from the gramophone in the corner of the room while she helped herself to a large Butterbeer, not hearing someone approaching her.

"Oi, Potter!" Emilia turned around to see Oliver Wood walking over to her with a warm smile on his face, his dark eyes glittering with amusement.

"Hey, Oliver," She greeted him with a grin, and after he'd poured himself a Butterbeer, she held up her own glass to him, "cheers to your big win, congratulations."

He nodded in appreciation and clinked his glass against hers and they both drank. When they lowered their glasses, he chuckled, his dark brown eyes on her mouth.

"What?" She asked.

He bit back a laugh, "you've got a bit of something on your face."

She startled and hurriedly wiped a hand over her face, "is it gone?"

He shook his head and when she still couldn't find it, he laughed good-naturedly and lifted his hand, "may I?"

She nodded and he gently brushed the small bit of foam from the top of her lip.

She stared at him, slightly bewildered, but he smiled shyly, his cheeks going a bit pink, and then he nodded to the dance floor, "want to dance?"

She quashed whatever nerves she had in her stomach and hastily agreed, and as she walked over with him. She glanced over to where the twins danced with the two girls, accidentally meeting Fred's gaze as he twirled a girl under his arm.

When he didn't break the gaze and instead narrowed his eyes, she shook her head and glared at him, as if to ask what his problem was. She looked away then and joined in with the excitable group of her fellow students who were already swarming the dance floor around her.

They all laughed and danced along with the music, and Emilia happened to make eye-contact with Angelina, who nodded pointedly to Oliver behind his back and winked at her, and Emilia looked away, flustered, but excited.

Emilia eventually tired from the dancing but was still very giddy after drinking several Butterbeers, as was Oliver. They moved to leave the dancefloor and Emilia tripped over the frayed edge of the rug, and with quick reflexes, Oliver caught her and steadied her.

She suddenly found her face very close to his, and he smiled shyly and propped her upright on her feet, but didn't let go.

"Um, Emilia, I was wondering if- ahem. I don't have time for anything, you know, serious, with Quidditch and everything, but I was wondering- I guess if...ah- shit." He was clearly flustered so she gave him a moment, and he ran a hand through his hair and smiled bashfully down at her, "you know what, sod it. Emilia, can I kiss you?"

Despite all the shyness she felt, and the fact that she was in a room with a lot of other people around, Emilia responded by flinging her arms around his neck and kissing him, which he very eagerly reciprocated.

Whoops and roars echoed around the common room as she kissed Oliver and she was only slightly aware of it as she attempted to navigate her first kiss with a guy who just happened to be one of the most popular Gryffindor students in the school.
