Maitland Home No POV
Barbara and Adam were in the attic as Barbara tried to clean and Adam was working on the model.
Adam: I wish I had a better view of the cemetery from here. I can't tell which is the best placement for us. Though I'm confident Wade will pick an ideal spot.
Barbara:<sits on the couch> oh!
Adam: Cabin Fever, hon?
Barbara: well, I can't clean anything properly. The vacuum's out in the garage and we can't leave the house. Why don't they tell us something? Where are all the other dead people in the world? Why is it just you and me?
Adam: maybe this is heaven.
Barbara: in Heaven there wouldn't be dust on everything and we wouldn't see Wade depressed.
They heard some car doors shut as they went to see.
Adam: it's Jane.
Barbara: god, what's she doing here?
Adam: looks like she brought Wade back. Hey, Jane, up here. Jane!
Jane and her daughter left as Wade kicked the stairs in anger.
Barbara: can't see you, right?
Adam: uh-uh. Wade seems angry.
Barbara; in the book, rule number two "the living usually won't see the dead."
Adam: won't or can't?
Barbara: it just says won't. God, this book is so stupid. I can't understand anything in there.
Adam: Barb, honey... we're dead. I don't think we have very much to worry about anymore while Wade still lives here.
Jane's car drove past a sign that said that the Maitland House was on sale and got sold, that's why Wade was so mad. Speaking of.
Wade was in his room changing to some comfortable clothes.
Wade: I can't believe that woman. My parents die and the first thing she does is sell the house! <sits on the bed> what am I gonna do?
Later
Adam and Barbara were sleeping as Adam turn over and took the blanket with him showing that Barbara was floating in the air. There was a small rumble that woke Barbara and she fell and screamed waking Adam up.
They heard clattering and went to see as some moving guys slammed a moving cart to the staircase rails.
Charles: ah, this is great. This is just what the doctor ordered.
A woman in black clothing and orange shirt puffy hair entered. A man walked in and he looked like your average Joe.
Charles: Delia Deetz, welcome home. <kisses her cheek>
Delia: Charles.
Charles: it's okay, there's no damage. Look, see? It's okay. Good, sturdy, country craftsmanship. And look at that kitchen. You're finally gonna be able to cook a decent meal.
Delia:<looks at him>
Charles: come and have a look. <goes to the kitchen>
Delia: a little gasoline. Blowtorch. No problem.
Wade: <comes down with his stuff>
Barbara: where's Wade going?
Adam: I don't know.
The moving people brought a single person couch and there sitting was Lydia, Charles and Delia's gothic daughter. She looked around as she was Wade's age.
