From the Royal House of Capet came two families started from one of the two sons of King Louis IX of France and his Queen, Margaret of Providence and they were Prince Phillip who became King Phillip who founded the house of Valois and his brother, Prince Robert, Count of Clermont founded the house of Bourbon with his marriage to Lady Beatrice of Bourbon.

Sir John Howard III (c. 1366-1437), of Wiggenhall and East Winch, who married Lady Alice Tendring and they Sir Robert Howard who married Lady Margaret De Mowbray and they were the parents of Lord John Howard, 1st Duke of Norfolk, but he was also the only grandson of Lord Thomas De Mowbray, Duke of Norfolk of the 1st Creation and through his mother, Lady Margaret and through her son, Lord Thomas and through his mother, Lady Elizabeth Seagrave and through her mother, Princess Margaret of Brotherton was created Duke of Norfolk in 1483 by King Richard III, the youngest son of Lord Richard, Duke of York and Lady Cecily Neville.
