Ahem...Tada! 12,916 words for such a long wait.

_____________

Nathan hadn't been lying this morning when he said my day would be busy. So far, I've had breakfast with Kayli and her brother, toured three possible houses for our family to purchase and managed to make it back to Nathan's for Gabriel to help me get ready for my date with Mr. Blackbourne, Dr. Green and Kota.

Since Erica finally has an evening shift off work, she wanted to have a family dinner so Kota will be joining us after. Which works out because Im not sure if he would want to be around to witness the catastrophe that Dr. Green made of our dinner. Which is why we are now waiting for Mr. Blackbourne to return with Chinese takeout and Dr. Green and I are cleaning up Mr. Blackbournes kitchen.

"Why," I ask in confusion, "is there lettuce on the ceiling?"

"It's kale and fresh spinach," Dr. Green cheerfully explains from his spot on the floor, scrubbing away the remains of something brown. "I forgot to put the lid on the mixer."

"Right," I say, biting my tongue from further questions. They would be pointless.

I hear the door open and the smells coming from the bags Mr. Blackbourne carries precede him into the kitchen.

"I see you've gotten most of it cleaned up," he says to Dr. Green before helping me down from my chair and replacing me so that he can reach the last bit of green on the ceiling.

"What was that brown stuff anyway?" I ask them.

"Mashed potatoes," Dr. Green replies.

"But, why" I begin, but Mr. Blackbourne just shakes his head, indicating I should just let it go.

"Mi...Sang, will you please set out some plates and silverware on the bar? I would like to keep the table undisturbed until later," Mr. Blackbourne says.

"What happens later?" I ask him as I set about doing my task.

"That's a surprise, Pookie," Dr. Green says cheekily.

Once all the surfaces of the kitchen are again pristine, we finally settle down for our dinner. I decided to go with chicken and broccoli because it sounded like it wouldn't sit quite as heavily in my stomach as anything else on the menu. After a few bites, I quickly realize that I was wrong about the dish being lighter than any of the others, but I enjoy the flavors too much to stop eating until I've cleaned my plate.

"Well done, Pookie. I dont think Ive ever seen you eat that much in one sitting before," Dr. Green praises me.

"Nathan thinks it's because of the, um, exercise I've been getting lately," I reply, blushing from thoughts of the kind of exercise I mean.

Dr. Green laughs and I notice a small smile on Mr. Blackbournes face as well. "Good thing we have leftovers, huh Owen?" Dr. Green asks, nudging his arm playfully while sending me a wink.

"You're incorrigible," Mr. Blackbourne says. "Miss...Sang. I'm sorry, it is quite difficult to change old habits."

"Are you apologizing for him or for almost calling me Miss Sorenson?" I ask him playfully. "Because honestly, I don't mind either."

My sass earns me a chuckle from Mr. Blackbourne which makes my heart soar. "What I was trying to ask, darling, is whether you wanted to change before we retire to the living room?"

"No, thank you," I reply. "I have plans for this dress, actually."

In truth, Gabriel and I planned my entire outfit with all three boys in mind. It is quite important to me that Kota be able to enjoy seeing me in my hunter green dress before I lose it. The silver-grey and purple underwear set underneath the dress is for Owen and Sean, but they'll have to wait until Kota takes the dress off to see.
