Deku sat in the passenger seat, his ebony eyes sparkling. Rody got in, and looked genuinely confused. "What are you so giddy about?" He questions the greenette. Deku just smiles wider. "Nothing.. no reason at all. I feel todays gonna be wonderful." He looked up at the skyline, his smile dropping heavier than an anvil. "It's going to rain..." he said quietly, admiring the dark clouds covering the sun. "We'll that sucks.. I was looking forward for a walk later on ." Rody says, interrupting dekus thoughts. Pino popped out of nowhere, hopping about in the dash, pointing behind them. "What is it pino?" Deku asked. He looked at rody, who looked froze up. "That's no ordinary rainstorm hero. It's a funnel, for one.... That only means...." He choked on his words. "Tornado..." he stepped on the gas, wheeling the van down the road. "We need to get somewhere safe... that cave would collapse if the tornado hit it... there should be a town not far from here..." Deku nods, reviewing the map. "It says there is..." he looked back up, noting the funnel starting to speed up and plummet to the earth. "Maybe they have basements. Or somewhere we can stay to avoid the storm." Rody says, looking up at the cloud now and then at Deku. "Hang on tight hero. We're going through it." Dekus eyes widened. "ARE YOU CRAZY?! What about flying debris?! What if we get picked up by it?!!!" Rody sighed. " we aren't going to be picked up. And debris won't be a problem... not much anyway. We've had worse in Otheon before. This one isn't any different.." he slowed the van, and nods. "Here we go." He seemed calm, but pino was making it obvious he was scared. The poor bird shivered where she stood, wings over her eyes as she chirped nervously. Deku took rodys hand, and took a deep breath. "Let's do this... it's the only way." Rody nods again, and steps on the gas, he prays silently as they break through the tornados first layer, amazed it was easy to pass. However it wasn't easy to leave. A few pieces of debris flew past the windows, but rody was determined, and stepped on the gas again, soon entering the center of the tornado. Deku clung to the seat and screamed. Within minutes, it was over. The two eventually made it out.  Rody gasped for breath, ignoring the shattered glass that covered him. He looked at deku. "Hey... hero... wake up.... We're alive..." he didn't realize the greenette gripping his arm. Deku looked up at him, and shivered. "You sure we're alive? We made it? We're not dead?" Rody nods, and helps the hero up, nodding towards the field they were dropped off in. The tornado was long gone. And the sky now showed a bright orange and purple as the sun was about to set. Deku hugged rody, happy they made it alive. "Come on, the van has enough gas to make it to the next city." Deku nods, and sits up, fixing himself in his seat. "Y-yeah... let's go..." he was shaken up, and he knew this wouldn't be the first time they would have these. They were on the run, and things like that storm were bound to happen.
