"Noooo, Ellie...don't go!" Max groaned, wrapping an arm around my waist as I sit on the edge of the bed pulling me back towards him and making me giggle.

"Oh my god Max, let go," I whine trying to pull his arm from around my waist unsuccessfully as he somehow manages to twist us so that I'm underneath him, pinned down with one hand in each wrist on either side of my head as the Dutchman kneels between my legs with a smirk covering his face.

"Sorry, did you say kiss me?" He asks smiling and leaning forward as he starts to pepper my face with kisses as I giggle at the tickle of his stubble.

"Oh my God, get off me!" I cry out but the yelps of laughter kind of detract from the gravitas of what I'm saying. "I need to go!"

"No you don't, you need to stay...right here with me," Max murmurs directly into my ear making me shudder as he moves the frantic kisses to more meaningful ones from my lips down to my chin and then down my neck as he lays down a bit more on me, grinding his hips lightly against mine to let me know exactly why he's reluctant for me to get out of bed. I bite my lip as he gets down to my collarbone and I try to suppress the moan that's begging to escape as I force my eyes open.

"I can't, I have to fly to Milton Keynes today! It's not my fault you didn't take me up on my offer to come with me!" I manage to get out, sounding a lot more convinced than I feel. I hear Max sigh as he lets his head fall in the crook of my neck and he groans before pulling away to look at my flushed face underneath him.

"I can't, I would if I could! You know I would," he says disappointedly looking deep into my eyes and I nod from where I'm stuck underneath him.

"And I would stay if I could but I need to get to the factory, I need to see the team. You've done so much more than me and I need to get time in on the simulator," I say softly and he nods, releasing my wrists and sitting back on his heels as I push myself up in front of him, completely ignoring how naked and vulnerable I am naked with my legs spread either side of him, completely safe and at ease with him.

"I just feel like we have hardly had any time together recently," he says running a stressed hand together as he falls backwards and sits cross-legged in front of me. I draw my eyes up from his hips, across his chest and back to his eyes as I absentmindedly nod at him.

"Is that not how it normally is?" I ask him curiously, wondering how his previous relationships have been.

"No one has ever been as busy as you...not even me," he says smiling wistfully and I nod understandingly.

"Maybe we can go two nights a week at a race weekend? Try and order room service on a Thursday or Friday just the two of us?" I ask trying to find a compromise in a way that wouldn't overly affect either of our races. "Things will hopefully be getting a little less busy for me when the project is announced after Imola...well more press immediately after but then Monaco and then it's chill?" I say unsurely and he chuckles humourlessly, eyes big and sad as they look at me and he nods before looking away, out the windows of my bedroom to the Seaview outside.

"Right, sure."

I chew on my bottom lip, worried by the tone of his voice and how this clearly has been bugging him. Eating away at him inside.

"Hey...what can I do?" I ask him softly, switching positions so now I'm on my knees between his legs. "Tell me," I quietly beg for solutions.

"I don't know...but we will figure it out...when do I get to find out about your project by the way?" He asks curiously, mood shifting from sad to curious and I eye him warily, putting a hand on either knee and leaning forward so our faces are closer, although he doesn't react, just continues looking out to sea.
