Morrigan Brooks
Thanks to me (not that I'm gloating or anything), we found the whereabouts of Ray's living situation. It was a little farmhouse, in the middle of nowhere.
It was my part to lure them out, so I may have kidnapped their dog, and I was now just sitting against the side of their house, out of sight, stroking its coat.
The sleek Kelpie's ears pricked up when we heard a shrill whistle.
"Rudy! Come on!" A woman said. "It's too hot to make me come looking for you." She says before shrieking.
"I am so sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," Klaus says in an American accent. I still can't tell if it's really good or really bad, but either way, he seemed to be using it way more than necessary.
"Can I help you?" The woman says.
"Yeah, my uh car ran out of gas a couple miles back, and I feel like I've been walking forever. Yours is the first house I've come to and I was wondering if I could use your phone."
"Don't you have a cell phone?" She asks and Klaus chuckles.
"Heh, yeah. Battery died. Look I promise I'm not a serial killer, I just want to use your phone." He says in a convincing voice.
"Sure." She says after a second.
"So... I can come in?" Klaus says hopefully, still using the accent.
"No. I'll get the phone and bring it out to you." She says, finality in her tone.
"I thought you country folk were supposed to be more trusting," Klaus says, adopting his normal accent again.
"I'm from Florida." She says sassily.
"That explains it." He says. I hear a whoosh before a choked cry. "Now, show me a bit of southern hospitality. Sweet pea."
I don't hear anything, nor do I bother to listen for the next couple of minutes. though I do see Stefan walking up to the door, waiting for them.
After a bit, there was screaming.
"Mor, come on," Klaus says calmly.
"Can we keep him?" I ask and his face twists in disgust.
"Not a chance." I knew realistically we wouldn't be able to since we were hopping from one hotel to the other, but it totally would have been cool if we had a dog.
"Whatever." I press my forehead against the dogs. "I love you, Rudy. I'll find you in the next life!" I say and then I let him go, throwing a ball as far as I can.
"Mental woman," Klaus mutters.
"So. Where's Ray?" I say, changing the subject.
"Somewhere far off the beaten track. Come. After Stefan's done we must be off."
I STRETCHED in the backseat of Klaus' car since I just had a nap.
"Afternoon, sleeping beauty," Klaus says.
"How far away are we?" I say ask, looking out the window.
"Twenty minutes," Stefan says. We spend the rest of the ride in silence since I was usually the one to start conversations in this group and I was still wishing I could spend my immortal life sleeping, waking up, sunbathing, and repeat.
