Blaine's POV
After what happened at the cafe, Blaine and Annie were no longer speaking to each other. It will be fine though, they always fight and make up. This time Blaine wouldn't crawl back and beg Annie to forgive him. He was sick of Annie constantly accusing him of liking Andy. It made him mad how she brings it up any chance she gets. It's her favorite go-to fighting card. Getting out of bed, Blaine goes downstairs where his mom is eating cereal. She looks up from her bowl, making a funny face.
"Wow kid, you look like absolute shit."
Blaine lets out a small laugh and opens the fridge. "Yeah, I know." He gets out a water and sits at the kitchen island. "Ma, I need help."
"What is it this time? No, wait I know! It's that snake you're dating, isn't it?" Blaine opens his mouth. "Or is it about Andy? Hmm, by the face you're making, and by past discussions, I'd say it's both. Because let's face it. When is it not both?"
Blaine looks down at his hands. Do the three of them really have that many problems? Now that Blaine thinks of it, all of their fights have been about Andy.
"... yeah it is. I don't know what to do anymore. I can't make one of them happy without pissing the other one off. It's stressful, and it hurts my head." Blaine looks at him and looks at his mother desperately.
"Well, here, let me ask you this," she says as she gets up and walks over to the sink, washing her dishes. "Who do you care about more?"
"Well, that's hard to choose, but I would think An-."
"Ok! Then it's decided. Break up with Annie."
"But I think I still love her."
"Stop lying to yourself."
"I'm not lying. I'm just not sure what I feel."
"Honey, I think you know. You just don't want to accept it. I know you think she is your 'first love', but she isn't. You have loved someone longer."
"But I don't know who that someone is."
"Yes you do."
"If you're thinking it's Andy, you're wrong. I don't like him and I'm so sick and tired of everyone saying I like him, I don't."
"Then ignore them. Figure it out for yourself. Spend some time away from all the other people in your life and give yourself time to figure it out."
"What if it's too late by the time I do?"
"The fact that you're even asking that tells me it won't take you long."
"Here's a hypothetical: Let's say I do like Andy and I have for a long time, but by the time I figured it out, he was already with someone, and he seems happy."
"Honey, that doesn't sound hypothetical."
"It is. I don't like Andy."
"Just because you're repeating it doesn't make it true."
"Please, just answer the hypothetical question."
"Alright. 'Hypothetically' if you like him but he's already with someone, see if he's really happy and decide if you're going to tell him or not. At least let him know he has options."
"This is all hypothetical, of course. I don't like Andy."
"You're wearing that sentence out."
"Fine, I don't have feelings for Andy."
"Sure you don't, honey, sure you don't." She pats Blaine's shoulder as she heads to her room, leaving Blaine confused and not sure what to do with his life. Blaine rests his head on the island just thinking about what to do from here. His phone rings, so he reluctantly answers it.
