Jaime
"Today's the day" Kelsey said nervously as she packed the last of her bags. We were leaving for LA this morning and I could tell she was freaking out.
"You okay?" I asked turning her around to face me."It's gonna be so different Hime. I won't get to see my family as often and I'll have to get a new job -" she rambled but I stopped her.
"I know we're asking a lot of you, but you know things can't continue the way they are. Vic is doing this for Mike, though he won't ever admit it, and they both need our support" I said and she nodded."I get it" she said, kissing me before she continued packing.
"Guys, they're here!" Tony yelled from downstairs. I grabbed our things as we all walked towards the cars. Tony had helped the movers put our boxes and furniture into the moving van so all that was left were a few bags.We had all agreed that Vic, Storm and Tony would go in Vic's car while Mike, Kelsey and I would go in my car.
"I can't believe this is happening" Storm said. I think it finally dwelled on her how big of a deal this was."It's for the best, yeah?" Vic said hugging her, though I'm not sure who he was trying to convince more, Storm or himself. After loading our bags into the cars, we got on our way. Mike insisted he drive first and, it being a nearly 2 hour drive, he and I would switch halfway.
Kelsey and I sat in the backseat and I rested my head on her shoulder as we drove out of San Diego.
"How are we all going to survive living under one roof?" Kelsey asked after a while.
"It'll be like touring, the real question is how are you and Storm gonna handle it?" Mike asked smirking slightly."Oh I think Storm will be just fine when Vic's around" Kelsey said, causing us all to burst out laughing. Mike seemed to be in one of his better moods today which was awesome for everyone else. He's been 1 week sober and is already acting like less of a zombie each day.
I know it makes Kelsey happy that he's happy, which makes me even happier. I sometimes think about Ashlee and how she's coping, but I try to block those thoughts out of my head before I spiral into a dark place.
I looked over at Kelsey who was now on her phone. She was so amazing and I couldn't believe she forgave me after what I did. I guess I'm lucky that an asshole like me has someone like her.
