Chapter 24

I woke up to Kelsey crawling back into bed.
"He was in another fight again, wasn't he?" I asked her.
"Yeah but it's all sorted" she sighed cuddling into me.

It's been 3 weeks since Ashlee cut off all communication with us and Mike has been getting drunk and getting into fights ever since. This was the 3rd time Kelsey had gone and dragged him out of a bar after getting a drunken phone call at 2am.

I personally think he's becoming a lost cause but she won't listen to me. It's times like these when I wish Ashlee was here. She'd know how to control Mike. I've tried calling her plenty of times but she never picks up.

-- the next day --

I was getting really pissed off. Kelsey had gone and seen Mike again this morning and she hadn't been back for hours.
"Dude she'll be fine" Tony said watching me pace around the house.

Suddenly she came inside, a couple of drops of blood on her shirt.
"Are you kidding me?" I sighed angrily.
"I had to take him to the hospital Jaime, he broke his ribs and had a blood nose" she said.

"I don't even know why you bother with him, he's just doing all of this to get attention and you're falling for it" I said.
"I bother with him because nobody else will. He's hurting and he doesn't know how else to cope" she argued and I could tell she was pissed off too.

"Well if he needs you so much why don't you go and live with him?" I asked, starting to yell.
"Oh grow up Jaime you can't seriously be jealous of Mike?" She said her voice matching mine.

"Or maybe you just go and compare injuries, you'd know all about those wouldn't you?!" I yelled. We both stood in silence, Tony had his mouth open in shock. I instantly wanted to take it back.

"You're an asshole" she said bitterly before walking outside and driving off.
I just stayed standing, not being able to move.
"I think I've finally caught up and that was not cool Hime" Tony said before going upstairs.

I couldn't believe I'd just done that. That's probably one of the worst things I've ever done. I just pushed away the one person that I need most and all because I was a little jealous that she was spending time with Mike.

He does need help and we've just given up on him. His bandmates, his friends. I lost my cool and now Kelsey is gone, and I don't know if she's coming back.
