New York - London
August"Take Tiny for a moment."
"Naming your dog the opposite of its physical attributes is neither funny nor clever." I decided to point out as I took the lead of Alex's Great Dane, Tiny.
Alex began zipping up his tan aviator jacket, "I see that someone woke up in a Freddie-less bed this morning."
I frowned, "As is the case most mornings." Although his absence had been particularly notable the past few days since he's busy in Munich. I miss him but I know he's working and loving every second of it.
Alex chuckled, "Yeah, and you're a moody eejit most mornings."
Alex had adopted a new puppy, who was destroying his apartment in his absence- so a walk during his lunch break was now necessary. I decided to join him today and had been regretting it ever since. Central Park was always bustling with activity, but today the amount of people swarming about the place had tripled today. Numerous people had knocked into me without apology and rushed off in various directions. Naturally, I was losing my patience the deeper we entered into the park.
"I think it's simply the lack of good tea in this bloody country." I commented, "It weakens me."
"Alright, I'll agree with that much." Alex smiled and his fingers brushed against mine as he reached back for the lead.
I shoved my hands back into my blazer pocket and half growled when a young man knocked into my shoulder and muttered a quick "sorry dude."
"He's in Munich, right?"
"Hm?"
"Freddie?"
"Yes, he's working on some solo material, but I think Queen are getting together for an album soon." I explained efficiently.
"And you haven't considering moving?"
"Should I?"
"You're asking me what I would do in order to shag Freddie Mercury?" Alex pondered, "I don't think I would let an ocean stop me anyway."
"Piss off." I grumbled and plopped myself down on a nearby bench.
Alex let out a hearty laugh as he joined me, "Okay, I know Munich isn't a practical option, but would you ever consider moving back to London?"
Not a chance. "Trying to get rid of me?"
"No, who else am I going to fantasise about?"
I arched a brow even though I didn't really need him to elaborate, "A workplace crush is all that gets me through the day Hayes."
"There's Ryan from accounting." I joked.
"He's rather dull, but has a nice ass."
"You've expressed your desire to shag three men in the past minute."
"You and Freddie are looking for a third?"
"Good lord," I muttered and reached for a cigarette. Tiny, who was already about the size of a calf, rested his droopy face on my knee.
"You know there are people who do that."
I scratched the top of Tiny's head as I puffed on a cigarette, "What's that?"
"Have three, four, maybe even more in a relationship."
"How?" I frowned, "It's difficult enough to deal with one person."
"I knew you would say that."
"It's impractical—" I began, as Alex literally mimicked my accent and said the exact same thing, at the exact same time.
