。・『Break up』・。
Today is the day, and I’m completely at a loss for what to do.
Last night, I ignored Will's calls and messages while I wrestled with how to end things with him.
But if I just cut ties so abruptly, he’ll definitely start to question everything.
Our relationship has been solid and healthy. We’ve had no issues, so suddenly breaking up would leave him utterly bewildered.
"What am I going to do?" I whispered to myself, anxiety creeping in.
'That girl gave me until tonight, so maybe I should just hide away at home for the rest of the day to avoid her. But what if she knows where I live? If I go to work, Will will follow me, and if she shows up at the store and sees him with me, she’ll—'
"Love!" a voice interrupted, making me jump slightly.
"Yes, Will?"
He sighed, gently cupping my face. "Are you okay?" He felt my forehead. "You seem a bit warm, and I noticed you’ve been sitting there for over ten minutes, staring at one spot. That tells me you’re overthinking, which means you’re stressed," he observed.
My mind was racing, trying to process his words, how he said them, and how he managed to hit the nail on the head.
"Tell me what’s bothering you," he said, kissing my forehead. "I’m your boyfriend. I can help, and even if I can’t, I’m here to listen."
He's so thoughtful. He's so generous. How can I possibly end things with him when he's doing everything he can to support me?
"I-I can't handle this..." I choked out, tears streaming down my face.
"What do you mean?"
"I-I don't want to end it, but I feel trapped," I clutched his shirt tightly, burying my face against his chest.
"Wait, are you really saying you want to break up with me?" he stammered, his voice quaking, breath hitching.
I nodded, feeling the weight of my decision.
"What? Why? Did I mess up? I can change! Please, don’t do this!" he pleaded.
When I looked up, I saw tears in his eyes. He was genuinely bewildered by my choice, and it was heartbreaking to witness.
"You haven't done anything wrong, Will."
"Then why... don’t you want to stay with me?"
I gently held his face, "I want to be with you. It’s just... things are complicated right now and—"
"Who is it?"
"What are you talking about?"
"Who is pushing you to do this? Who is making you say these things?" His voice dropped, taking on a menacing tone.
"It's no one. This is my decision—"
"That's a lie! You’ve been ignoring my calls and texts, which is so unlike you. Now, out of nowhere, you want to break up? TELL ME WHO IT IS, GABRIELLE!"
A chill ran through me. He had never used my name like that, except when he confessed his feelings.
'I really don’t like this.'
"Enough with the lies! I stopped by the store on my way here, and it was a complete mess—a complete disaster! You would never allow a place you care about to be destroyed like that. The weren't any broken windows or doors so someone was inside. The same person who's been manipulating you. So, tell me! Who are they? I'm not leaving until you give me a name!
