"Owoooooooooo!" I woke up to howling coming from the window.

I sleepily sat up and looked at the window.

Ariel crouched on the edge of the windowsill howling with the wolves outside.  I jumped up and grabbed her pulling her back in the room.  She fought against me.

"No." I said firmly.

She pouted but stopped struggling.  I let go of her and looked at the clock, "4:00 a.m"  It's 4 in the morning, and she got up, to howl with her wolf friends?! I banged my head against my hand and locked the window down tightly before climbing back on the floor.

I closed my eyes and finally, went to sleep again.

I woke up again, this time to a poking at my ribs.  My eyes slowly opened.  I looked up. Ariel crouched over me.

"Yes?"

She pointed to her stomach which growled.  I looked at the clock again, "6:00 a.m"  I was scared to think about what she was doing for 2 hours.  I decided I didn't want to know.

Lazily, I got up and led her to the kitchen.  Her confused eyes darted around probably wondering where the deer was.  Haha, like that comercial, but, Where's the deer!?

I opened the refrigerator.  Fried chicken, no.  Pork chops, maybe.  Steak, yes!  I took out the steak and put it on a plate, then put it in the microwave.  Ariel watched with awe as the steak spun and spun in the microwave.  She excitedly reached for it.

"No, not yet."  I made a sign for wait.

Didn't she know you can get diseases from undercooked meat?  No, I guess she didn't.

The microwave finally beeped and I took the steak out.  Ariel watched the meat like a lion would watch a gazelle.  Her wild eyes frightened me, but also enchanced me.  I sat her down at my table.  It was a two person table with a yellow table cloth.  I know, how manly.

The light coming through the window showered onto Ariel's face.  She sheilded her eyes from the light.

"Sleep." She said looking at me expectantly.

I explained to her through signs that our kind slept at night.  She nodded then looked longingly out the window and let out a sigh.

Ariel was becoming more human by day, but I knew she wanted her wolf family back.  I wanted her to be happy, but surviving like that just wasn't healthy for her.  Why was I so attachted to her anyway?  And why hadn't I called the police yet?  She was a missing girl for crying out loud!  I guessed that since I saved her I had grown protective of her.

As I watched her sad face, I thought I saw a tear fall onto her plate.  She gobbled up the steak quickly then sat quietly.  I looked at my watch, "6:30"  Work!  I glanced nervously at Ariel.  I couldn't leave her there alone!  I snapped my fingers in realization.  Take her to work!

I rushed her upstairs and began blindly dressing her in some of my old jeans and a t-shirt.  I slapped my face, didn't she need a bra?  Oh, well.  I gave her one of my hoodies.  It had Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory on it.  It said my favorite catchphrase, "Bazinga!"  I know, I'm a dork.  I had to say, the tomboy style worked good on her.  But animals don't like clothes.

Ariel scratched at the hoodie not knowing how to work a zipper.  I took her by the hand and pulled her into my chevy camero.  She shook her head and pulled back.

"Come."  She shook her head again glancing nervously back at the woods behind my house.

She pulled back in resistance but I took wrestling classes in college.  I pulled her into he passenger's seat and closed the door quickly locking it.

This would be fun.
