Throughout the whole week, Ulala and Jaguar started spending time together. They would never be able to do this normally, usually it's only for a split second on the reporting field or he would run away before she could say anything to him.
But this time, there was nothing distracting them from having a proper conversation. Over that time span Ulala found out a lot about her friend, how he met Lucario, how he hired the Jaguars and how the Space Pirates were properly formed.
Everything was going smoothly, but soon that one week turned to two, then three, then four. After four weeks of spending time together, Jaguar had asked Ulala to meet up with her at night, he wanted to show her something. Ulala accepted, but that meet up also had a request, he asked her to wear something nice. Ulala complied, once it hit night she met up with him at a nice viewing spot on earth where she could see all of Space city, Ulala was wearing a white dress with silver high heels.

Ulala: hey, so about that thing you wanted to show me?
Jaguar: oh yeah, just close your eyes

Ulala did as instructed, Jaguar took a few steps back and sighed, the wind blew softly as Ulala stood there with her eyes shut.

Ulala: can I open my eyes now?
Jaguar: y-yes...

Ulala opened them and her eyes widened in shock, Jaguar was holding his chest as the red thunderbolt symbol appeared on his chest, scars appearing and glowing, the crimson scarf sprouted out of his back and a visor flashed over his eyes. Ulala was stunned, Jaguar had been Shadow the whole time, that's why he went missing, Jaguar tried to contain the power within that was provoked.

Jaguar: I-I thought you would already know
Ulala: it's been so long that I forgot
Jaguar: (sighs) Ulala... what do I.... look like to you?
Ulala: I....

Ulala's eyes welled up with tears, she couldn't find the right words. Shadow had destroyed facilities, hurt plenty of people, killed a few, and nearly killed her. Ulala tried to step towards him.

Jaguar: stay there...

Electricity crackled as he got to his knees, he felt the scars surge through him as pain ran through.

Jaguar: I don't... want Shadow to hurt you
Ulala: you don't need to protect me from him
Jaguar: (grunts) (sighs)

The electricity ceased as Jaguar took a deep breath, he got up and his outfit changed back to his Space Pirates uniform. He walked over to Ulala and their eyes locked in on each other.

Jaguar: did that scare you?

Ulala shook her head no.

Jaguar: should we stop meeting?
Ulala: no, please no
Jaguar: your trembling
Ulala: I'm not scared...

Jaguar had a hand on her face, he leaned in close and had a hand on her waist.

Ulala: because it's you...

He pulled her in and they kissed, the moonlight highlighting them. Jaguar let go and looked at her as she stared at him.

Jaguar: when this is over... will you be there? For me? For us?
Ulala: of course I will, when we stop whatever this invasion is and who is behind it, we'll be together

Jaguar pulled her into his embrace, Ulala was still trying to process what was going on, she had a hand on his chest, she felt the scar.

Ulala: you'll be free from pain...

Jaguar let go and they parted ways, once Ulala got back home, all the answers to her questions flooded her mind.

So that's why he spared me every time?

Was this a deep connection?

Is he... in love with me?

Ulala shook all of it off and just got ready for bed. But things were going to get more complicated from there.
