Callie Torres scrubbed out of her second successful knee surgery of the day with confidence. The chief orthopedic surgeon saved the day once again when her team needed to call in the 'big guns' for help.
She ripped off the blood covered plastic scrub protector and shoved it into it's appropriate disposal bin, removed her gloves, and washed her hands under the warm water of the sink. Callie untied the mask from behind her head and dropped it into the trash can before removing her favorite pink and red flower patterned scrub cap. She pulled the hair tie out of her hair and let the long dark and wavy locks tumble down her shoulders.
When she was satisfied with her appearance, Callie found her white lab coat and put it on over her dark blue scrubs. Callie Torres was back and just as badass.
Callie wasn't expected to be greeted by her girlfriend as soon as she exited the room. But Callie gladly welcomed the sight.
It was mid February and Callie finally had her head back together and she was thinking clearly and rationally once again. She had tried sleeping around with both men and women, but those attempts only failed and left her pondering over the two women that had her heart.
Although she had been happily seeing someone for the past month, it had been often times overshadowed by the nasty divorce that was going to take place between Callie and her wife. The soon to be ex-wives lawyered up and had started the process of submitting their assets to the respective other side. Callie never expected a divorce to come less than six months of marriage. She felt utterly useless and stupid for the fact she had wanted to wife her girl up so soon and now it had completely imploded in her face.
The divorce proceedings were not going to go smoothly at all. Callie already knew that her wife was not on board with her decision to file for divorce and had desperately wanted to try marriage counseling to try and get their relationship back on track. She already knew that the divorce was going to be heading to court, and that her wife was going to be very difficult to settle with.
Callie had tried to sit down and talk with her wife about how they planned on dividing their assets. But she made it nearly impossible for Callie to even think of agreeing to anything, and it would end in a screaming match. The orthopedic surgeon had given up trying to talk civilly and instead decided to communicate about any divorce related things through her attorney.
Callie was met in a warm embrace from her girlfriend. "You look like you have a lot on your mind Calliope."
She nodded. "I do. A lot to catch up on here at work and all the divorce shit at home."
The blonde tightened her arms around her girlfriends neck. "You're coming over tonight right? I'll get your mind off all that crap."
"What do you have in mind?" Callie asked with a smile.
"I was thinking about making you something nice for dinner, since you were in surgery all day. Maybe a massage and a movie? And then some more fun things in the bedroom?"
Callie nodded and matched the smile of Arizona Robbins. "That sounds really nice," she said huskily. "I have to stop at home real quick and get some things and then I'll be over."
The blonde took the brunette's strong hand in hers and led her to the elevator. "I'm going to stop at the store on my way home. I'll see you at six?"
