(Harry's POV): "Shit" I mumbled. I had just run a red light. That didn't matter though, I was only five minutes away from the university. I drove as quickly as possible, anxiety pumping my heart along. I pulled into the parking lot. This looked like a very close knit school where everyone knew everyone. I walked up to the closest person, a guy around my age. "Excuse me but do you know where Emily Thomas' dorm room is?" He whistled,"good luck with her. Every guy that asks her out gets rejected. And theirs a lot of guys that have asked her out." I bit the inside of my lip,"I'm not here to ask her out." Liar. "I just want to know where she lives." He scanned me over," your Harry Styles right?" I nodded. He stuck out his hand,"I'm Tyler Young. She lives in room 322." I thanked him and started to walk off. "If I hear of any trouble, I'll tell the guys and you... well let's just say don't fool around with her." I nodded. Guess this community was tighter than I thought.
Emily's POV: today was a lazy Saturday. I was wearing Victoria's Secret legging with a school T-shirt. Olivia was out on a date with a guy and I had the dorm to myself for a while. Our dorm was relatively big. Because of my little thing with one direction I had gotten quite a bit of money so I upgraded to a bigger dorm with Olivia. It had one bedroom, one bath, a kitchen, and a living room. I plopped down on the couch and flipped through channels. A knock echoed in my dorm. I brushed it away thinking it was the tv. Then I heard another set of knocks. I got up and walked to the door,"coming!" I unlocked the door and turned the door knob. There standing in front of me was Harry Styles. We had not talked for a year and I was hoping we would never see each other again. "Ummm... Harry I wasn't excepting you." We sat there in silence soaking up each other's presence. "Come in. Can I get you some coffee or something?" He waved it off,"that's ok." He followed me to the couch. We both sat down and I turned off the television. "Why did you come here?" He cleared his throat,"I want to know the real reason you left me." I looked away,"umm it was because the star life was not for me." He shook his head,"no it isn't." I looked straight at him,"how dare you say I'm wrong! I know why I left!" He looks straight back at me,"yah and guess what? You know your lying." I swallowed. He was right of course. I closed my eyes. Maybe he did care. He did after all drive all the way here to come ask me. "Harry this might sound stupid but it was because I don't believe in love. I haven't told anyone this by the way." He grabbed my hand. I didn't resist. "Why do you not believe in love?" I sighed and closed my eyes again. I opened them back up and started talking,"well it started years ago. My mom and dad started to fall to pieces. They would always tell me that they used to love each other very much and that now the magic has started to wear off. That was before he started hitting my mom. It wasn't bad but then he started drinking and going to bars until the morning. My parents couldn't support themselves alone so we stayed together. They agreed on an open relationship. A relationship where they could date whoever they wanted. So it was basically two people who hate each other but live together kind of deal." Tears had started to come down my face,"they would yell at each other whenever in the same room. My dad didn't beat my mom as much but he used words. These words hurt my mom and she would cry herself to sleep every night. He would constantly spit out these horrible words and I couldn't do anything to stop him. One day she stood up for herself and told him mean things. That night he went to a club and brought back a girl. Imagine me, an eleven year old, trying to fall asleep next to her weeping mother while in the other room you could hear your dad banging on a random lady. These were my nights every other night. The only thing holding me back from leading a horrible life was school. I would concentrate on it very hard. I got good grades but my parents couldn't care less. I would visit the woods in my back yard and sing to myself. I would make up songs and sometimes my friend Olivia would let me borrow her radio. When I was thirteen my parents finally got a divorce. My dad moved to somewhere in London and I'm pretty sure became a pimp or something. My mom moved to another neighborhood and lived with me. She shut down and would just sit on her bed staring at the wall. She would forget I'm there. Olivia's parents took me in for around a year until I could get a job and look after myself. After all this I pledged to myself to never ever fall in love. The divorce rates have gone up and more and more people after a couple of years of being together they leave each other. Old couples stay together just because they are old. And I don't want to get my heart broken. Love is something that hurts. It kills yet people still want it. I don't understand." I was a mess. Tears had dripped down over all my clothes and my face was red and wet. Harry wiped away some of the tears with his thumb. He pulled me into his chest,"Shh it's going to be alright." We stayed like this for a while. "Harry?" "Yah" "why did you come all the way here for me?" He chuckled,"well you are the first girl to ever intrigue me this much. I've never felt anything like it before. And I couldn't let you go. When you left I fell into a depression. I quit singing for a couple of weeks and I stayed in my room for a long time. I didn't even talk to the guys. I went to therapy and after a while I was better. I still missed you though. I wanted to find out why you left. I tried to find you but until yesterday I didn't have your information. But now I do and I'm glad I came." I sniffled,"me to." We got up and hugged . "If there is anything you need just call ok." I'll try to visit you on the weekends ok?" I nodded. He cussed under his breath. "What's wrong?" "I have a girlfriend." I started to look away my fear creeping in again. He cupped my face,"that doesn't matter. I can arrange a change." He started to walk off. Before he closed the door he ran back to me and kissed my forehead. "ⓖⓘⓥⓔ ⓛⓞⓥⓔ ⓐ ⓒⓗⓐⓝⓒⓔ " this time he closed the door behind him. I blew out a breath and sat down on the couch. I smiled thinking about the next time I would see Harry.
