( Emily's POV): my name was Emily. I was an only child with divorced parents.  I was nineteen and attended a musical university. I was one of the better singers at my school. I do the same thing over and over and I wanted to be challenged. I had always wanted to become a singer since as long as I could remember. I had finally got my chance. It was for a big boy band called one direction. They were huge. They were holding auditions for someone to start for their show. You had to sing a song from their X-factor tour. I was going to sing viva la vida. But there was a problem. A big one. I am a girl. They want a boy. I had thought long and hard about it. I was still going to do it. I just had to be a boy. Or act like one. I wasn't giving up this opportunity. I had been preparing for three months now. I had bought boy clothes. Like what one direction wore. I had bought a nice quality wig and a wrap for my chest. I had taking acting and voice classes every day. The class taught you to speak and sing like you are the opposite gender. The auditions were today. In a couple of hours. I woke up and stretched out yawning. My feet carried me to the bathroom. You could call me a bad morning person. I took a shower. When I got out I dried my hair and sat on my bed. I had flew out to London for the auditions. I lived in Whales. When my parents were together we lived in London. Or on the outskirts to be more precise. I sighed and leaned backwards so that I fell on the bed. I missed the sound of the city. But it reminded me of my parents so I tried not to come out here often. I got up again and checked the time. It was seven. I had to be there by eight thirty to be one of the first ones there. I put some skinny jeans and vans on. The wrap was hard top put on at first. It finally fit. My face drifted down to it. It looked so weird. Like I hadn't gone through puberty. I laughed at myself. My shirt slid on. I walked to the bathroom mirror. My long wavy chestnut hair formed a bun. I stuck the net over it. Then the wig. I fixed it a little. I let out a gasp. It was so easy to change into a guy. I smirked and let out in my best boy voice,"I like boobs." perfect. I was in character. I grabbed my phone and keys and walked out the door to my car. I bumped into a girl while trying to cross the street. I pretended to check her out. I winked at her. She turned red and ran away. I chuckled. This felt so wrong.

Harry's POV: the boys and I were holding auditions for someone to start our show. We wanted a boy. Yes, might be sexist but it's what we thought worked out best. I left our hotel to get fresh air and to grab ten coffees from Starbucks. It was going to be a long day. I walked out in shades and a hat hoping no one would really notice me. I walked into the Starbucks. There was no line. "I would like ten lattes please." "will that be it?" I glanced over at the pastries and bagels they were selling. "Umm, no a dozen donuts please." "what type?" I thought,"chocolate, glazed, and two with raspberry filling please." she handed me the donuts and coffees. "That will be fifty pounds." I whistled. That was a lot. I handed it to her and walked out. I walked back to the hotel and knocked on the door. "Who is it?" I heard Louis ask. "It's Harry open up!" I yelled. I heard some laughter. "No thanks." I groaned. "come on please. I have coffee and donuts." I heard some running and the lock clicking. "He said he has coffee and donuts!" I heard Niall yell. I laughed. The door swung open. Niall grabbed the donuts and ran back in. I carried the coffee in. "Long day ahead!" yelled Liam. We grabbed our phones and left for the studio. We sat down at a table. I handed out coffees. They sent the first person in. The day went on. We found some good singers but we were looking for someone who sounded like our genre and was a little like us.

Emily's POV: I got there. I parked my car and walked to the studio. "Shit" I whispered. It looked like I was not early enough. The line snaked out down the block. I stood in line till one. It was finally my turn. I walked in. The boys looked amazing. I stood on the stage. "Whats your name?" Liam asked me. I had prepared for this moment for months. I took a deep breath,"Thomas. Emmett Thomas." "Ok why are you here?" "I'm here to pursue my dream of being a singer. And what better way but to be helped out by five great singers." Harry leaned in to his microphone,"cheesy but I like it." I smiled. Liam cleared his throat,"what are you singing?" "Viva la Vida, Coldplay." they leaned back in their chairs with clipboards. I took that as a sign to start. I grabbed the microphone and sang all I had. The boys whispered a lot during my performance. When I finished I waited patiently for them to finish talking. Louis talked this time,"we thought it was very good. You have a very good chance. But we still haven't seen everybody yet so don't keep your hopes up. If you are our top ten you will get a call tonight and you will come back tomorrow. Thank you." I left with a smile on my face.
