After Felix helped Hyunjin get out of the bathtub and put some comfortable clothes on, they went to Hyunjin's bedroom.
Hyunjin got between the warm covers. he was tired beyond everything, but the last thing he wanted to do was to fall asleep.

Felix set one knee on the bed and leaned in to place a gentle kiss on Hyunjin's forehead.

"I'm gonna take a quick shower. I'll be right back.

Hyunjin quickly placed his hand behind Felix's neck. He lifted himself up and kissed him.

Felix's soft lips felt like home.

Felix was surprised but answered the kiss, getting on the bed.
He felt Hyunjin's fingers on his neck sink into his hair.

"Don't go." Hyunjin whispered desperately into the kiss.

Felix kissed him back harder.

"I don't want to. But I'm all sweaty and gross from running. I have to shower." he broke the kiss, smiling slightly.

"I'll be right back."

the moment felt like it was no longer than the blink of an eye to Hyunjin, who felt a warm tear fall down his cheek as Felix slipped away from him. He quickly wiped it away.

He would've wanted to hold on.

When Felix came back, Hyunjin had fallen asleep despite his numerous efforts to not do so.

Felix crawled under the blanket and backed up to Hyunjin to be the little spoon.
Hyunjin moved closer to him unconsciously.
Felix realized how perfectly he fit into Hyunjin's hug, like they were always meant to sleep like this. He closed his eyes and listened to the rhythm of Hyunjin's breathing.

That night the two, a bodyguard and his boss, who had easily forgotten about those titles that assigned what they should be to each other, fell asleep comfortably in each others arms.

And just like that it was the next day. they still had time until tomorrow night, if you were to count 48 hours from the moment Mr. Hwang first said
"two days."

Hyunjin had spent every moment with Felix. He hadn't seen his father or brothers once, nor did he want to.

It was getting more and more difficult for him to pretend everything was okay.
He was unable to spend time with Felix without having intrusive thoughts of his dead body in place of the current living one. The images haunted his brain, and he was at his breaking point, holding Felix's little hand.

If he doesn't come up with something today, his worst nightmare comes true.

I can figure this out. I just need more time. god, just give me more time.

"Felix? I'm gonna go get us some food. I'll be back in a minute." Hyunjin started getting up.

"Wait, wait."

"hmm?"

"I know you told me to wait, but..." Felix said hesitantly, holding onto Hyunjin's hand.

"lix, I-"

"Did your family, like... find out? about us? It's just that we've been here at your apartment for over a day, which I'm not complaining about, but we haven't heard from your father since the incident..."

"...He did find out." Hyunjin said, scared of how Felix would react.

Felix sighed.

"and I'm so sorry. I should've been less obvious. Especially knowing how my father is."

"Don't. It's not your fault. nothing is."

Hyunjin sat back down. He slowly leaned towards Felix and rested his head on his lap.
Felix set his hands in Hyunjin's soft, long hair.

they just sat there for a while in comfortable silence, both of them in their own thoughts, but still together.

Hyunjin squeezed his eyes shut trying to focus on Felix's hands in his hair. his warm lap. the quiet sound of his breathing.
and for a while it worked.

Hyunjin was almost in a trance-like state, but he woke up from it when he heard the sound of Felix's breathing get interrupted with a growl from his stomach.

"Oh, right, sorry. I was supposed to go get us food. You're probably really hungry now." Hyunjin got up and started searching for his phone.

Felix chuckled lightly.
"a little bit. But it's my fault I didn't say anything.
I just wanted to stay like that for as long as possible."

"Well I don't blame you, my company is unmatched." Hyunjin said with a smug smile.

"...shut up and go get the food."

Hyunjin stepped outside to the corridor, but he stuck his head back in the apartment. He stuck out his tongue and then pulled his head away, closing the door before Felix could react.

The playfulness in the air disappeared as soon as Hyunjin shut the door.
It was like his connection with Felix was cut off when he put the door in between them.

The fog of relief that their affectionate moment and little joke brought to him was fading away and starting to reveal the cruel reality again.

Hyunjin started walking to the elevators with his head pressed down.

He went to the cafeteria downstairs and decided to grab some kimbap.
He felt like he had eyes on him constantly, watching his every move.
all of the workers eating at the tables next to him were clearly staring at him.
when he looked up, he was sure he saw someone look at him with binoculars from the upper floors.
the walls had little peepholes in them and every single one had an eye on them on the other side.
an eye that was concentrated on Hyunjin.

the gazes were burning holes in Hyunjin's skin, and he started feeling them everywhere.

he started walking back faster.

"Hey! oh my god, you're okay."
Felix ran to the door when he heard Hyunjin enter.

"huh? of course I'm ok, i was just getting something to eat", Hyunjin said confusedly.

"No but I totally forgot that your dad might be planning something out there! I should've come with you, I am your bodyguard after all."

"nothing happened, it's okay."

Hyunjin would've wanted to say
"he's not planning anything. don't worry."

But he couldn't bring himself to lie that much.

"let's eat." he added smiling faintly.
