Silver's Pov

I woke up the same way I have been for the past few days; expecting Blaze to be right by my side, only to realize it wasn't a horrible dream, it was the horrible truth. At least today has finally come. I managed to buy a house in the past for me and Bella. Today is the day we finally get to move into it.

Bella was actually really excited. I couldn't really blame her. After all, to keep her safe from Iblis, she's been kept in the bunker for pretty much her whole life. This would be a whole new adventure for her, and she couldn't wait. Cinder made sure I understood that she would be visiting whenever she could and that she was here if I needed her. I'm lucky to still have her.

Once we had everything packed, I took Bella by the hand and pulled out the small device Tails gave me after the battle with Solaris. He told me all I had to do was enter the year I wanted to go to and it would take me there, but it would need a month to recalibrate itself before it could be used again. I punched in the year and it opened a portal for us.

Once we arrived, I could tell that Bella was completely amazed by everything. I have to admit, I'm always surprised by how much better the past is. Bella's excitement reminds me of the first time Blaze and I came to the past. We were just blown away by how perfect and peaceful it was. Well, when people like Mephiles aren't attacking that is. My trip down memory lane was interrupted when I heard a familiar voice call my name.

"Hey Silver, it's been a while," said Shadow. I was glad to see him. When we first met, I wasn't too sure about him, but now I'd say that we're basically brothers. Shadow was actually the one who helped me find my new house. He even let me in on something he, as he said, didn't want to tell any one else; he and Rouge were not only getting married, but they had a kid as well. I met their daughter a couple of times. Her name was ruby, she was about the same age as Bella, give or take a day, and she looked just like her mother but with her father's streaks and eyes.Shadow was actually the one who helped me find my new house.

We talked and joked around for a while and I introduced him and Bella to each other. Then he asked the question I knew he would but hoped he wouldn't, "Hey, how's Blaze doing?" I didn't blame him for asking, I hadn't told the rest of the gang what happened to her, it just hurt too much to talk about. Suddenly, all the pain came right back and I started crying all over again. Shadow pulled me into a hug and started rubbing my back, while Bella hugged my leg. I'm sure Shadow was confused, but couldn't even make a single sound right now to explain what happened.

Once I finally gained control of myself, I told him what happened to Blaze. "I'm so sorry, Silver," he apologized. "I had no idea. I know what it's like to lose someone close to you. Before I lived here, I lived in a place called the Space Colony Ark with my friend Maria. We were pretty much family and we did everything together. But the day I came down here was also the day she was killed. I'm not saying that we'll ever forget them or that it will get easier to not have them here, but things will be okay. You've still got Bella, plus Rouge and I are here if you need us."

He offered to help us move in and I was surprised to learn that we actually live right next door to each other. He and Rouge helped me unpack everything while Bella and Ruby played. I could already tell they just became best friends. It felt good to know that I had a fresh start for me and Bella. I just wish Blaze could be here for this new chapter in our lives.
