A Shocking Discovery

Silver's Pov

A few weeks have passed since Bella and I moved to the past. Things have been going great, but I still wish Blaze was here with us. I try to act like I'm not hurting because I know Blaze would want me to be strong for Bella, but I think keeping this pain in might be taking a toll on me, since I've been having a lot headaches lately.

Shadow, Rouge, and Ruby have been over a lot and I feel really lucky to have them. They truly care about me and Bella and want to make sure we're okay. It means a lot to me, I just wish I had some way to repay them.

One day, Shadow and I were hanging out at his house while Rouge went out with the kids. He said he had something really important to tell me about. "A few days ago, I was on a mission for G.U.N., and I found out something crazy," he said. "Supposedly, there's this ancient temple and if you make the journey to find it, this ancient being that inhabits it will grant you one wish." I told him that it sounded cool, but I didn't understand why he was telling me this. "On the mission, I learned that this thing actually exists. You know what that means, right?"

Once he asked that, I realized exactly why he told me; if I make the journey, I could get Blaze back. I begged him to tell me everything he knew about this temple. He said he knew where it was and, given the being that lives there wants to know the wisher's commitment, we wouldn't be able to use our powers and would have to make the journey on foot, which would probably take a few days.

We planned out the whole trip, but what surprised me was Shadow's wish idea. He said he would wish for Maria to come back, but he had a feeling that there would probably be some sort of twist to his wish. He said he may miss her like crazy, but if bringing her back risks losing what he has now, he wasn't going to do it. He claimed he would see what happens with bringing back Blaze and then decide if he should make his wish.

We finished planning out the journey and told our families what we were doing. I simply told Bella that we were doing something important and would be back in a day or two. I didn't think it was fair to get her hopes up until I knew for sure that Blaze could actually come back. Shadow said the same to Ruby and it seemed like Rouge already knew what was going on. He probably already told her.

That night, I actually went to bad happy, thinking that soon, the love of my life could be back by my side. I really hope that this works, because I don't know what I'll do if it doesn't. I owe Shadow big time for this. My life might be about to get a whole lot better.
