Michael:
"What?!" I jumped out of my seat. Clarissa was actually considering moving in with some guy who faked his death? "Claire, I don't think it's a good idea. You haven't seen him in years. What if he's a serial killer now? What if he's a rapist? What if he's a drug dealer?" She looked at me like I had just suggested that she was going to jump off of a skyscraper and try to fly. She giggled and shook her head. "Calm down, Mikey. I'm not actually moving in with him! Your overprotective reaction was kinda cute, though." I sighed in relief and sat back down. Wait- did she just call me cute? Clarissa stood up and stretched. I just sat and stared while she reached for the clouds. Her body was stretching in a way that made her curves stand out and I couldn't tear my eyes away. "You're beautiful, Claire. Really beautiful." She dropped her hands to her sides and blushed at my comment, which made me smile. I don't know where this newfound confidence was coming from, but I liked it. Normally, I would be too shy to compliment a girl, even a girl I'd known pretty much of all my life. Clarissa held her hand out to help and up it and I took it, swinging up so that our lips were inches away from touching. Smooth, Clifford. Our breaths mingled together and the urge to kiss her was unbearable. I couldn't help myself. I leaned closer and Clarissa closed her eyes. I smiled; she wasn't running, she actually wanted this. I brushed my lips against hers and felt her smile faintly against my lips. I guess she was feeling the same way as me, because she wrapped her arms around my neck and pulled me closer, merging our lips together. I was on cloud nine- I was actually kissing Clarissa. Clarissa Hood. And the best part?
She was kissing back.
I felt the sparks fly- these cliches are getting out of hand- and I was on fire... in a good way.
Our kiss didn't last long, unfortunately, because both of our phones started chiming at the same time. Undoubtedly the guys, wondering where we both disappeared to. Clarissa sighed and took a step back, pulling her phone out of her back pocket and biting her lip, which I found unbearably hot. I tore my eyes away before I did something I might regret and pulled my own phone out.
Hemmo1996: Where are you? Is Claire with you? Calum is freaking out because we can't find her. Please text me back or better yet, just text Cal.
I smirked. Of course, Calum only cares about his sister, doesn't bother to acknowledge the fact that I am missing as well. My phone vibrated, letting me know I had another text.
Hemmo1996: And yes, Calum knows you're gone too. He thinks you're with her, doing... well, her.
I guess I spoke too soon. And of course, Calum would assume that we were doing that. I looked at Clarissa, who was typing something on her keyboard. She sent her text, shoved her phone in her back pocket, and met my eyes. I smiled and she smiled back before grabbing my hand and pulling me close to her. I smiled at her and she leaned in, closing the distance and pressing her lips to mine. I responded immediately, cupping her cheeks with my hands and stroking her cheekbones with my thumbs, our lips moving in unision. Her hands ran up and down my arms, leaving tingling trails. I swear, kissing this girl was like kissing an electrical socket- I was on fire, the air around us was charged. Except I doubt an electrical socket would make me feel this good and taste so delicious. My phone chimed telling me that I had another text.
I ignored it.
Clarissa's phone chimed next, but she also ignored it. About twenty text messages later (which wasn't long, the guys were clearly getting impatient) we pulled apart and walked, hand in hand, through the forest and back to the school. Clarissa just acted as if nothing had happened, which hurt a little, to be honest. It was like those moment with me had changed nothing for her.
From there, we walked to the Hood house, not letting go of each other. Once we reached the front gate, Claire let go of my hand and opened the gate. Stood outside of the font door, she turned to me. "This stays between us, okay? I don't want to ruin yours and Calums friendship." I nodded and kissed her forehead. She smiled and rested her head against my chest. I savored the feeling of her against me. For all I knew, Calum wouldn't leave us alone together after this. He did think we were doing... dirty things, as Luke had said. Clarissa sighed and opened the door to reveal the guys all sitting in the living room, phones in hand. All three heads shot up in unison, and Calum got up and tackled Clarissa in a hug. She giggled and hugged him back. I grinned at the sound of her adorable giggle and plopped down on the couch next to Ashton. He was staring at Clarissa, as was Luke. Calum pulled Clarissa into the kitchen, without a doubt scolding her. Ashton, Luke and I sat in silence until they came back. I expected Clarissa to come and sit with me, considering we had just kissed... twice, I might add. But she crawled into Luke's arms, as usual. I already missed the feeling of her in my arms, her lips on mine. We all sat in silence, except for Luke's whispers directed at Clarissa, until I couldn't take it anymore. This silence needed to be broken.
