I'm often staring out the window,
lingering there and wondering how.
You could float hither and thither,
when I drop to the ground and wither.
I do not like to be pitied upon,
I'm busy rising thereon.

To me my character matters,
I should never find it in shatters.
Because you're taken by the wind,
and I have never sinned.
I crawl forth upon the strength I've eaten,
for you will never have me beaten.

My path will be much lengthier,
paved with stones much heavier.
That's all right, c'est la vie,
because I'll learn, you see.
My path is paved with obstacle,
at least I'll start anew at the end of the circle.

I'll be the donkey who bumps her head twice,
but my morals won't be run by the dice.
I've already started backfilling that old pit,
now just hang on and hold my grit.
I'm anew, yet the oldest soul you'll find,
polising my heart till it shows it's kind.
