SELFISH

"You're doing it wrong." Sanemi told you for about the hundredth time today.

You clicked your tongue and pulled back the bow, ignoring him, and used your right pointer finger to steady the arrow, to which, Sanemi just laughed in a know-it-all tone, saying, "you're going to cut your damn finger if you keep doing that!"

You groaned and rolled your eyes, relaxing your muscles and putting the bow and arrow to either side of your body. "Tell me how then!"

Sanemi grinned and ran his hand through his hair, clearing his throat simultaneously.

 "No." He stated.

"This again!? Why?"

"Because you wouldn't understand. Your tiny brain is incapable of understanding." He pointed to your forehead and flicked hit harshly.

Instinctively, you brought your freehand up to your forehead and massaged the area of impact. "Then why'd you choose me?"

"Because I had to or else I'd have to find another profession." He went to the nearest tree with shade and sat down, resting his back against the trunk. "No more questions. Do it again, and if you miss, you're running laps until sundown."

"You've got to be kidding me, I hate running laps." But you still gripped your bow and basket of arrows and distanced yourself 20 yards (18m) away from the target.

You put the butt of the arrow onto the bow's string and pulled back around 70% before stopping and getting comfortable in your position.

You blurred out seemingly everything and focused on hitting the red spot on the target.

However, since you focused only on the target, you didnt notice Sanemi get up from his position and stand next to you, hovering beside your right ear, waiting for you to draw back and just before you let go he yelled, "Wrong."

But it was too late. You already let go and you jerked to the side causing the direction of the arrow to go somewhere completely different.

You weren't even close.

"Sheesh! You weren't even close." Sanemi scratched his head in boredom.

"Of course I wasn't even close! You disrupted me!" You forcefully drop your bow and walked over to him.

"Eh? It was your fault you weren't paying attention to your surroundings. You probably wouldn't have gotten it anyway." He proceed to walk away from you.

"But I could have."

"Well you didn't. Now go run laps. You can rest once the sun goes down."

You sighed and started running laps around the estate until you started to see the sun touch the horizon, to which you collapsed to the floor, breathing heavily and slowly made your way back into  the building.

"Your running was trash." Was all he said as your greeting.

"Well fuck you too.." you mumbled under your breath and walked upstairs to take another cold shower.

When you returned, You went downstairs and out the door.

"Where do you think your going?"

"Just outside.. Mitsuri and Shinobu asked if we could meet up when I was done." You proceeded to wear your shoes but your feet were aching already so you just walked out barefoot. "I'll be back soon, don't worry."

He tsked and began to close the door. "I never was."

You walked out and waiting outside a bar with Shinobu. "Is that seriously what he did to you?"
