Feelings
Your sister watched the flame dance on Rengoku's palm. It flickered in every direction every time he spoke, as if trying to do something, but he commanded it not to.
Fascinating.
She blurred out whatever he was saying, summing it all up to him oversharing how he managed to do that.
But then a certain thought started to creep up and made her frown suddenly,
"What? Do you not like fire?" He asked, making the flame die out.
It was quick, but her eyes flickered to you beside him. "No, it's not that-"
The uneasiness in his eyes shifted to his natural smile as he sparked it again, this time holding have a flame in one hand and holding that hand close to you, expecting you to give half of your flame to make a bigger one. "Then why did you look unsatisfied?" He asked after you joined.
"I wasn't unsatisfied, I'm just confused on why I had to hide the both of you here?"
He laughed, and you turned to him, noting how white his teeth were, "Well I wasn't the one who grabbed my collar and forced me in their home!"
Despite you wanting it to be a serious environment, you couldn't help but smile along with him. "I'm thankful for you sister.. I thought you were going to leave us."
She shook her head and sighed, "You never told me you were a Fire mage-"
"I didn't want you and mother to know, because I myself didn't know until two years ago, and I didn't want to scare either of you-"
"I'll have you know, your sisters improvements in the element of fire within these 2 years has been one of the most impressive I've ever seen! She's a natural!" Rengoku elbowed your ribs playfully.
You laughed in return and elbowed back, with more force than what he gave you. "Not as good as you are though!"
He shrugged, "Still pretty good!"
"I still don't understand why there was Guards, from a crest I don't recognize, chasing after you two" Your sister frowned as she sat criss-crossed on the couch.
He knitted his brows together and sighed heavily, adjusting his way of sitting on the floor to a more comfortable position, "This story will take a bit. Are you okay with that?"
She nodded silently, and you got up and sat by him.
"Well, your sister and I actually work as a Pyrologist, for the king, but that's just a part time thing, I mainly just do combat with fire. But a couple days ago, your sister and I were so very bored-
"I was not bored! I did nothing rash, I was perfectly fine talking with the other guards." you chided in quickly.
"Right, sure, but I was bored so chose to play around with fire.."
"Rengoku, sir.. What in god's name are you doing!?''
Kyojuro turned around to see his you, with your eyes widened and your jaw dropped. "You're going to burn this whole tower down with that flame!" You looked around quickly for a pail of water.
Kyojuro, however, couldn't help but give a hearty laugh to your reaction, "[name], calm down! I'm just experimenting!"
"Experimenting with purple fire? Purple fire! They can catch anything on fire and it's incredibly hard to put out!"
He kicked his legs up and rested them on an elevated table, his eyes still fixated on the flame as he separated it into 3 smaller flames and juggled them confidently . "Don't worry, I'll make sure nothing happens!"
