The bell softly rang within the school, and your anxiousness rose. The classroom door was left open, letting you hear the footsteps and the voices of the sixty-or-so students within the halls.

You nervously fiddled with a square of white paper on your desk. You folded a small origami crane before the first student entered.

You looked up and offered a wave. The boy only nodded his head before he silently moved towards the back of the class to find a seat at a table. A couple other students arrived and the classroom slowly began to fill.

You heard another pair of students enter the room, though they had quickly stopped at the door. You glanced up in confusion to find none other than Brad and Gene.

Your scattered memories told you that these two were a part of knocking you out, a while ago.

You had only offered a small smile and a wave before turning back to your origami. You were starting a small collection of birds upon your desk.

You were nervous.

"...Hi, (Y/n)..."

You glanced up in surprise when Brad had approached the table. The black-haired boy didn't look all that different from when you last saw him, a long while ago.

"You... doing okay?" Brad looked very nervous, but he seemed just a bit concerned.

"I'm doing alright," You honestly replied. Your gaze flickered to Gene, who had left Brad behind and moved to find a seat towards the middle-right of the room. "Quite a lot has happened recently. I'm glad to see you and your friend are doing okay, though."

"...Right," Brad hesitantly glanced to the side. "Um... ever since Darkley—er, Wu's Academy—turned good... I wanted to apologise for, uh..." Brad refused to meet your gaze, "for hitting you with, uh, the bat."

You were a bit astonished. "That was you?"

Brad flinched at your question. "...Yeah."

You could only sigh. "Well... The past is in the past, I suppose," You replied. "I forgive you." You then quietly exhaled in amusement. "Just don't let any of the others know. They'll probably get upset at you."

Brad looked up at you in shock. "R- Really?" Brad shook his head. "You're... really not mad?"

"Really," You replied. "And thank you. I'm proud you've decided to apologise."

Brad continued to shake his head in disbelief. "...Cool..." He hesitantly held up a hand in a short wave before slowly turning and leaving your desk.

You sighed with a small smile before turning back to your little origami crane army. Maybe they could be taped to the walls as more decoration.

Children continued to file into the room. Excluding Brad and Gene, you only vaguely recognised three other faces.

The last of the students entered, and the bell soon quietly rang throughout the school. You softly stood up and moved from behind your desk. All eyes turned to you, and you nervously held up a hand and offered a meek smile. "Hello, everyone!"

Students offered waves, smiles, and small hellos back.

"Welcome," You softly continued. "My name is (Y/n), and I'll be your art teacher for the year." Your eyes had flickered to your desk for a moment before you continued, "I'll be teaching you all I know about art, from drawing to painting to even some smaller projects! Uh..." You were starting to feel very nervous. "For today, though, we'll start with something simple. On the tables, there should be enough drawing materials for everyone to share. I'd like you all to spend your first day drawing a self-portrait, to show what you all know about art."
