Family

I awoke the next morning almost an hour earlier than I normally would and ran straight to my bathroom where I, shampooed, conditioned, scrubbed, shaved, and exfoliated, before moisturizing with my vanilla-honey body lotion. After my shower and pampering myself I put my robe on and walked back into my room where I stood in front of my closet and started to look through my clothes.

I had thought about wearing a dress but it was chilly outside and I really didn't want to wear tights. Edward never informed me on how I should dress and knowing him even if I asked he'd say something incredibly sweet but also useless. It was times like this that I wished I had Alice's number as I had noticed that the pixie style vampire had almost the very same fashion sense as myself.

By the time I had found the perfect outfit I had wasted almost a whole nother hour and it was almost ten; Edward would be here to pick me up at eleven and I still needed to force some food down my throat and take care of Ellayla as she was going to come with me since Bella wouldn't take care of her and daddy had work.

I quickly got dress and braided my hair into a crown at the top of my head before pinning the braid to the back of my head with a jeweled clip. I decided to wear more make-up than I usually do with eyeshadow that matched my shirt and winged, black eyeliner on both my top and bottom eyelid before applying a tinted moisturizer to my lips in the color coral pink.

I called for my growing puppy and the two of us went downstairs and out the back door for her to do her morning business, when she was done I wasn't in the mood to cook so I grabbed a boxed of chocolate cereal and made myself a bowl after feeding Ellayla.

Once I was done eating I washed my bowl and ran back up to my bathroom to brush my teeth, as I was doing this there was a knock at my door. I quickly spit the toothpaste from my mouth and ran downstairs to grab my coat and Ellayla's leash before I grabbed my keys and headed for the door.

Once I opened it my handsome boyfriend started to snicker. "What's so funny?" I asked him. And instead of answering me he brushed the pad of his thumb over the right side and bottom of my lip and pulled his hand back so I could see the minty toothpaste residue and feel my cheeks heat up as he licked the toothpaste off his finger.

"Oh wow" I mutter breathlessly as he smiles down at me before pulling on one of my curls. We continue to make eye contact and as Edward leans down we are interrupted by barking and a small, fury body started to jump onto Edward.

"It seems she takes after your father." Edward told me as he bent down and pulled Ellayla into his arms as she automatically started licking his face.

"No. I think she was just jealous she wasn't the center of either of our attention for a moment." I laughed as my puppy continued to excitedly wiggle her body and toss her little head around as she leaned towards me and started to give me kisses. I am so thankful my make-up is waterproof.

"Are you ready to go?" Edward asked me as he put Ellayala into a carrier that was in his back seat before shutting the door of his car and turning back to face me.

"As ready as I'm gonna be." Edward smiled down at me before he opened the passenger door and I slide in, a second later he was in the drivers seat and by the time my seatbelt buckled into place he was pulled out of my driveway. Quiet music played through the stereo and we sat in comfortable silence with his hand resting in mine.

As we pulled onto the highway the male vampire at my side finally spoke. "If you have any questions that could make the drive...lively I could answer them for you?"

It was a good offer and I had a lot of questions but one of the most nerve racking was also the most embarrassing. Just thinking of it and I could feel my face redden. "I-uh don't know what to ask."
