Arias pov

The car was quiet as we all three waited in silence before Alice's phone flashed to her ear right as it started to buzz.

Jasper; who was sat in the passengers seat quietly turned to me with a comforting smile.""You're wrong, you know," he said quietly.

"About what?" I asked just as quietly, trying not to interrupt Alice while she was on the phone.

"I can feel what you're feeling now - and you are worth it."

"I'm not," I mumbled. "If anything happens to them, it will be for nothing."

"You're wrong," he repeated, smiling kindly at me.

I pulled my phone form my side bag and saw that I had a missed call from Bella but when I tried to call her back it just went straight to voice mail. I waited until Alice was off her phone before I left a message for Bella to explain why I wouldn't be home.

"Hey Bella, it's me. It seems as though your phone has died but I wanted to let you know that one of the girls on my old dance team was really hurt so I'll be going to phoenix for a little while to check on her, but I shouldn't be gone for longer than two or three days, a week at most. Love you, Bella" I hung up the phone and repeated the message to my mother since her phone was also dead and that really wasn't much of a shock with how often technology rebelled against her.

I laid down on the backseat as Jasper handed me a blanket that he seemed to have pulled out of nowhere.

I don't know how long i was asleep for but when I did wake up I was very confused. The room I was in was very bland and had to have belonged to a hotel room. Ellora was still asleep at the top of the bed on the right of where my head had been laying. The bedside lamps, bolted to the tables, were a dead giveaway, as were the long drapes made from the same fabric as the bedspread, and the generic watercolor prints on the walls.

The last thing I remembered before falling asleep was that Alice had said we would be heading towards the airport but not boarding. As I thought on it harder I had a fuzzy and vague memory of being in cold, firm arms and short blonde hair that had to belong to Jasper. The image was fuzzy and seemed like a dream but I may have been half asleep when the event happened, but that would explain how i got in this room and on this bed. Jasper must have carried me from the car to this room.

I looked at the digital clock on the nightstand. The red numbers claimed it was three o'clock, but they gave no indication if it was night or day. No edge of light escaped the thick curtains, but the room was bright with the light from the lamps.

I rose stiffly and staggered to the window, pulling back the drapes.

It was dark outside. Three in the morning, then. My room looked out on a deserted section of the freeway and the new long-term parking garage for the airport. It was slightly comforting to be able to pinpoint time and place.

I looked further around the room and saw my duffle bag was sat in the corner so I walked over and picked it up to pull out more comfortable cloths to wear.

I jumped from a light knock on the door and Alice entered the room a few seconds later.

She walked in, and looked me over cautiously. "You look like you could sleep longer," she said.

I looked back down at the contents of my bag. "I can't. Nightmares."

She drifted silently to the curtains and closed them securely before turning back to me.

"We'll need to stay inside," she told me.

"Okay." My voice was hoarse; it cracked.

"Thirsty?" she asked.
