It was strange.

Although Riki has a much taller and leaner figure compared to Aira, she felt like the bigger person in the few seconds of their sudden embrace. Her mind ran in circles as she attempted to come up with several theories as to why he has suddenly pulled her to a hug, but none of her guesses lined up properly.

What was the matter?

If only Aira knew.

Finally pulling away from the warm embrace, Aira's eyes glistened, realistically due to the lighting of the room. However, pure guilt rushed through his body.

To only use her for his own benefit, how cruel.

Noticing his expression returning back to his playful yet mysterious nature, she took the chance to ask, "You okay?"

"Yes." He replied, caressing his nape as his eyes wandered elsewhere. "Sorry about that."

"You sure?" She patted his shoulder as a gesture of assurance.

"Of course." He patted her head. "You just looked cute."

No stutters, no hesitations.

Just how casually can he compliment someone.

Nevertheless, taken aback by his compliment...or rather statement, she instantly turned around and walked away. As confused as Riki could be by her response, Aira on the other hand felt the wave of heat rushing through her face as it flushed with tints of pink. She felt her adrenaline increase as she tried to distract her mind with other games, just to maintain her breathing pattern. Her heart raced so quickly, it was as if she had just ran a marathon. Foreign to those emotions, she simply continued to find distractions.

However ... Riki Nishimura...

Does he mean what he says?

Did he mean what he did?

No. He didn't.
