The noisy classrooms and hallways was now quiet as everyone had left the moment they were free to. However, unlucky for Aira, she was stuck with cleaning duty alone as her partner was away.
Whilst rubbing the board, she suddenly heard the chairs from behind being tucked in.
Knowing it was Remi, she didn't bother turning around as she began to pour her heart out.
"Remi, be honest with me. Do I look strange? Some girls that i don't even know existed full came up to me and was like, 'it's such a shame you no longer fit into the guys ideal type'. I was so not silent, but silenced. And you'd think they are done, but they continue to go, 'even Nishimura will lose interest soon'. Like girl? Mind your own business. Looks aren't everything." Aira rapped out in one go.
"Oh and I also forgot to mention, but just when I thought I beat the Dana 2.0 allegations, it comes back harder than before. People are saying how I was so close to Riki's ideal type but then completely lost my chance because I no longer look like before." She finally stopped to take a breath before aggressively spraying the board clean. "Short black hair, strong make-up, bangs, pretty..."
It had completely slipped her mind that Remi was never the listener as she would interrupt every few seconds. No wonder it was strangely quiet.
"I was not aware of my ideal type." His deep voice was suddenly closer than before.
Feeling her heart drop, she turned around slowly as if she had just been caught.
Well she has.
Despite recognising his voice, she couldn't help but still flinch at the sight of Riki tucking the front row's chair in.
"Uh-" Aira choked on her words. "Hi."
"Hey, Miss Yapper." Riki greeted back
"Was I wrong...?" Aira lowered her volume as she wasn't aware of how loud she was speaking before.
"Hm." Riki responded as he began to walk towards frozen Aira. "You curious?" He asked with a smirk, towering over her.
"None of my business." Aira cleared her throat as he was getting a little too close to her.
"Your face says otherwise." He reached out for the cloth she was holding onto before stretching out to reach the areas that she couldn't. Though he wasn't looking at her, she still felt as if she was being watch.
His presence was too strong.
"No what..." Aira could only whisper.
"I do like pretty girls." He responded. "Great humour, kind, and confident."
"That's like half the population of our school."
"Someone shorter, but not too short because it would hurt my neck. Big eyes, cute smile and..." He finally stopped rubbing and bent down to reach her eye level. "someone who resembles a puppy."
"Many girls-" But Aira was cut off.
"Hair has never been a big deal for me." He spoke as he tucked a loose strand behind her ears. "But i think i'm currently a fan of brown hair with no bangs."
Aira couldn't believe what she was hearing.
There was no way that the infamous Riki Nishimura was referring to her.
No way...
"Ah! I get it! it's the current trend right now and you know, even K-POP idols like-" Her eyes were everywhere beside him. "Remi! Oh! Remi is here! I think we are done cleaning for now. I- I'll see you tomorrow!"
Aira quickly made her way back to her table to retrieve her bag. Just as she was about to leave, he had called out for her name again.
"Aira."
"Huh?" Aira turned around nervously to meet the confident male lean against the board with his hands crossed. "I only like it on you though."
"I'm-" Silenced again.
"Oh. My. GOD!" Remi tried her best to stay as quiet as she could but she was only just a girl. It was tough to not speak when all she wanted to do was speak.
Nonetheless, thanks to Remi, Aira had only nervously smiled before running out (whilst dragging Remi whose screams echoed in the corridor).
"Ah...shit." Riki whispered as he rubbed his forehead. However, still smiling like a fool.
It was in that exact moment, he realised he had fallen into deep.
Riki likes Aira.
