Exactly What I Thought

He held a hefty amount of my backside and we continued to shove our tongues down each other's mouths at my back door before I attempted to pull him in.

"Chill ma," he smirked wiping my lipgloss off his lips with his thumb.

"Trust me I wouldn't want anything more than to take you inside but I got some shit to attend to." He gave a reassuring look.

"It can't wait?" I asked curious to know what he was about to get himself into.

"Nah this is important. It's just a few quick errands." He adjusted his jacket before it started drizzling.

"Ight well it's raining so you go inside and imma call you, Ight?" He looked down at me kissing my forehead.

"Yeah...yeah okay." I watched him jog back around to his car as the rain began to fall harder and faster.

Before he disappeared into the street from my driveway, I opened up the "Find My" app and located the apple tag.

I contemplated going inside to change but Ace was on the move. I couldn't waste any time. I  closed and locked my door behind me before hopping into my car.

The rain began pouring a little harder but not too much for my hair and makeup to get screwed up. I didn't have time to run inside to get my umbrella but I knew I had one in the trunk.

My "Find My" began beeping showing me a location off Route 376. Hopping into my car I swerved into the road following the directions on my phone.

The sky became dark and the thunder began to growl. I got off Route 376 where there was a lot of construction and industrial work going on. I saw Ace's car tucked off in the back but no one was in it and the lights were off.

Scanning the buildings, I found one with a few lights on at the few top floors.

"What business does he have here." I thought to myself. I parked the car behind an old school bus and quickly shut the lights and engine off when I saw a slender, dark-skinned man look out the window with his hands behind his back. He studied the ground below him in the most satisfying way.

"Shit," I ducked into the driver's seat of my car making sure not to be seen.

Once the man vanished from the window I sat up looking around my car.

"What am I doing here?! What did I think would happen when I followed him here?" All these thoughts rummaged through my mind not knowing my next move. I shuffled constantly with my thoughts.

"Okay. Think. What do we know? We know Brian had been missing and Ace has his phone. Why would he have his phone?" I looked around before inching out of my car to my trunk to get my umbrella.

"What the fuck...Come on," I tugged on the trunk latch but it would not open. I quickly jogged back to the front seat and hopped back in.

"Fuck! My hair." I took a deep breath as I checked myself in the rearview mirror and looked around my car to see what I could cover myself with. There was only my trench coat so I would have to make this quick.

I ran over to the building and stood under the trim where there was a bit of a shelter.

"Ugh, I love rain but I don't like to be in it ." I rolled my eyes looking into some of the windows. Some were blacked out, and others were just vacant offices or rooms with boxes or trash. It didn't look put together nor did it look like someone's business.

I continued circling the property as my heels clicked against the only concrete on this property. Almost turning a corner until I heard some men laughing and playing around.

"Nah son she had this fat ass! I'm supposed to be sliding through tonight if we hurry up with this shit..."

"Man you better shut all that complaining up before Saint hears you."

"I ain't scared of no Saint..." One of the chunkier guys spoke. I scanned their attire and they all had guns accompanying them. From their hands to their waistband.

While bursting out in laughter they all began to silence when I saw Ace appear from the doorway they were all gathering around.

"What the hell is y'all niggas doing making all that goddamn noise out here?" They all stood up at the same time looking in the direction of the doorway. I knew that familiar voice ---Ace.

"Nothing boss."

"Ight so we gotta take care of this shit tonight. Call Lindel and tell him I need this shut moved by tonight. It's getting too hot around here and that nigga wasn't no regular nigga." I put two and two together and came up with my assumption that he was talking about Brian. Had to be. Brian wasn't a 'Regular Nigga'and definitely had ties in high places. He had the senator in his left pocket.

I hid behind the corner and began making my way to the other side. I ran and ran until I fell over a big pool of plastic.

"What?" I puzzled trying to find my control before this plastic swallowed me up. I planted my palms on each side of me feeling something weird under my hands.

Looking closely I could see something discolored. Smoothing out the plastic I made out nonother than a face. Not just a face but Brian.

"OH MY GOD!" I stood up scrambling to catch my breath and my thoughts as it began lightening and my once straight hair was now wet and wavy. I covered my mouth looking around the site.

"I've got to get out here!" I panicked running as fast as my heels would allow me. Halfway to my car I removed my heels as the mud sucked the heels in. I ran barefoot all the way to my car.

ACE

"Yo, you heard that?" One of my men pointed out. I didn't pay too much attention with all this rain and thundering, and we been hearing shit all day.

"Nah but since you heard it you better go check it out," I instructed while taking my phone out. I took this time to text Jasmine when my men ran over to me telling me that I needed to see this.

Tossing my hoodie on my head, I walked over to what they wanted me to see so badly and my little "package" that needed to be taken care of ASAP had been messed with. But who? The plastic had been removed and the soil from his face had been uncovered.

"Anyone see anyone or anything?" I scanned the site pulling out my Glock, then the five guys that were supposed to be watching out for the front.

"Nah Sayon was supposed to be making his rounds but we ain't seen him in a good thirty minutes."

"Hold up." I crouched down to look closer seeing a little black tube. A makeup tube labeled Midnight Raspberry by "Fenty Beauty".

"What's that, boss?"

"Nothing. Call Lendel and tell him to get his ass over here NOW!" I shoved the tube into my coat pocket.

Jasmine
My chest heaved in and out as I constantly looked through my rearview mirror to make sure I wasn't being followed.

"Oh, my fucking gosh. I can't believe..." I gripped my steering wheel choking on my own words and thoughts, frazzled by what I just saw. Being in the law world nothing ever prepared me for shit like this. I swerved into my driveway and hurried into the house pacing back and forth in my bedroom.

"Ok, Jasmine! Think!" I walked back and forth jumping at the sound of my phone ringing. Seeing Ace's face I began to get paranoid. I ran upstairs, removed my wet clothes, and hurriedly use my makeup wipes to remove the melting makeup off my face.

"He could be here any moment...Alexa. Kitchen lights off." I ran back up the stairs throwing my hair into a high clip while snatching my long soft pajamas out of the drawer. This is what I should have done and minded my business. Now, look at me. Traumatized.

A loud thunder made me jump from my thoughts when Fro jumped into my bed.
