I walked into my house dropping my Keys on the key hook.Hearing little feet steps come my way I kneeled greeting my little, black Pomeranian poodle.
"Hi babyy! How are you ?! Did you miss mommy today."
Kicking my heels off at the door feeling a wave of relief.Going up to my room,I changed my clothes into a pair of biker shorts and an over sized T-shirt.
It was so quiet tonight. No sounds of the birds against the lake in the back of my house. Just below my window, I would hear different types of animals throughout the night. It was beautiful. I slipped my feet into my cozy red slippers walking out, down the extensive hallway.
Walking into the kitchen I grabbed the left over seafood Alfredo I made the prior night. pouring me a glass of wine. I looked around grabbing my glass walking to the second floor Living Room. I love nature and the sound of the water. Walking along the window I looked up at the sky seeing all the stars. They were beautiful.
I sat my glass down pulling out my canvas, brushes and paint.
"Alexa play fortunate by Maxwell" I instructed my Amazon surround sound system.
Never had room service all night
Never took a trip first class flight
Never had a love affair so tight
I never felt a feeling so right
Never seen a winter so white
Never had words to recite
Never had a flame to ignited
And I never sang a song with all my might
After an hour of finishing this painting I took the time to check my phone.
I had a few missed calls and text. One being from my line sister, Rachelle. Turning off the lights , I made my way up the stairs to the kitchen.
"Siri call Rachelle" In just a few rings she answered the phone.Putting the phone on speaker so I could warm up my leftovers.
"You must have been painting"
"How did you know?" I laughed motioning around the kitchen preparing my dinner.
"Girl you always pick up the phone so I knew you were painting or had someone over...Speaking of someone over, how's the doctor?" She questioned mentioning the guy I was casually "seeing".
"Gone. Married man" I rolled my eyes, positioning myself at the Island.
"WHAT?! I had so much hope and potential for him."
"So did his wife. Not that I care. I didn't want to be with the man but the least you could have did was keep it real with me." I responded blandly, taking a sip of my wine. I looked down realizing I forgot to put food in Afro's food bowl.
"I think you need to be more open to relationships you never know what could happen."
"Yes I do. I'll be head over heels with someone just for them to use me and do me dirty. I'm good on that" rolling my eyes at the conversation we have every other day. I'm only twenty-seven. I'm fine. I have time.
"Mhm I hear you girl but anyways are you coming to 'Cajuaan' for Mya's birthday celebration?" Ugh I totally forgot that was this week. I'm a chill person and don't get me wrong, I love a little brunch party but clubs are ughh. I can always get a section if anything.
"I wasn't planning on it but sure I guess why not." Looking towards the livingroom Afro was facing the clear window.
"What's wrong 'Fro?" Walking towards the living room to investigate what had my dog's attention. I stood in front of the window observing the night sky. It was now going into nine-thirty.
"Hey 'Chelle imma call you tomorrow" I told her not taking my eyes off the alluring view.
"No problems chica. Love you" I stuck my phone in my lounge shorts walking against the window.
*Bark Bark*
"What is wrong with you?" We were on the second level so I was able to stand on the balcony looking beyond. I began hearing leaves crunching and the wind whispering against the water.
The crunching got faster and louder. At this point my nerves were jumping. I stared toward the direction the eerie noise was coming from. Just then a beautiful doe came rushing out the trees and my whole body relaxed in relief.
"You get on my nerves" I laughed towards Fro. Going back inside and locking the balcony doors.
"Come on time for bed." I turned off the lights but not before rinsing my plate and glass out sticking it into the dish washer. Fro ran up the stairs jumping on my bed.
"Girl get off!!" I laughed.
