the lost madrigal

part 1

Maria was picking berries. She learned wich ones were poisonous and wich ones weren't, she was now now twenty two. She ate one of the berries and put the rest into her pocket. She stood up, her wings folded onto her back. She was maria rojas madrigal- she wasn't a madrigal anymore. She had black hair and her mothers skin tone. She had blue eyes, she wore a white short sleeved shirt and black trousers with a dark purple ruana. As she walked through the woods. She had the gift of magic itself. It made her grow angelic wings but demonic horns at the side of her forhead. They were blood red. Her eyes used to be green like her tia's but now they were crystal blue. Her hair was long but put in a ponytail as she walked back to the mini home. She hopped over a root when something snapped onto her ankle. She muffled her scream by covering her mouth. She looked down through tears to see a bear trap!? She pulled it off by ripping it open. She sat down and was about to heal her ankle when the Bush rustled. She stood uo, her ankle healing slowly. "Look what we have here boys" three men left it. They were on horseback and had their swords drawn. Maria sprinted fast. She was injured so she was slower. She sped up just outrunnjgn the horses due to her magic she was crying from pain. She stopped catching her breath as a river appeared. It was multi-coloured and shon in the light. She ran through, it was uo to her waist. She got across quickly and put her hand to the waters surface. The horses had to swim through. They neighed and threw the riders off running back jntk the woods making the three run after them. She got up and limped away not wanting to be there incase they come back. She saw mountains....they were familiar hut she couldn't say where. She wioed some of the mud from her cheek and pressed her hand to the wall hesitantly. She stumbled backwards as the wall split open. She stood up still limping. She walked through the crack pulling her hood up. She froze. Her memories came back in a bang. She went to leave but the crack!? It sealed!? All of a sudden. "Hola" she spun to see a boy about she was definitely younger than him. "I haven't seen you around, whats your name?" He asked. "I'm Maria rojas" she wasn't lying technically. "Rojas sounds more like a middle name" she got nervous "I ain't judging. I'm camilo, camilo madrigal" she froze. Her cousin camilo!? He's so big now. "H how old are you?" She asked "I'm fifteen" he replied. Maria nodded. "Cmon! My familia loves meeting new people in town! It's so rare we get anyone" he gor her by the arm and dragged her. She didnt fight him. She just didn't wanna see the others yet. Or ever again. "Dolores said there's a new person?" She saw her tia and tio. "Is this them?" Felix asked putting an arm around pepa's waist. She looked different now so it's alright...maybe. "I'm Maria rojas" she smiled looking to them. "You look just like my sombrina" pepa mumbled as a rain cloud went over her head. "Umm if you don't mind what happened to her?" She asked. "She ran away, she nearly hurt her baby hermana, mirabel. She didn't have control of her gift and she ran, we tried to find her but she seemed to dissappear" felix explained a sound of remorse in his voice. "Do you want to see her agaib? I travel a bit I might have seen her"they looked to her. "Maria rojas madrigal?" Pepa asked. "It's familiar. I met her last week" they smield and thanked her. "I'm sure mama would like to meet our visitor" julieta her mother appeared. She looked to her and froze her eyes widened. "Are you ok m- señora?" She quickly corrected herself. "Los siento, you reminded me of someone" she explained but she knew who she actualy was. Maria gulped nervous slightly. "Come, my mama would like to meet you, she wants ti know if there's any new comers" she smiled. Maria nodded hesitantly. "Do you want to take your hood down?" Her father came. "I'm more comfortable with it up if its ok?" She asked him "it's fine" he reassured. Maria thanked him and followed the adults as kids took camilo to play. It was a comfortable Silence. "He's a good kid, you must be good parents" she Saif to pepa and felix. "How'd you know tbat?" Pepa asked shocked as the others were aswell. "He acts similar to you both" she replied."Oh...thanks" pepa smiled. Maria smiled slightly and nodded  they got to casita. It seemed excited to see her. "Casita isn't ever this happy to see new people" agustín was slightly confused at the reaction. Maria just acted and shrugged. "Sometimes things act different" they nodded. Maria sighed mentally from relief. Casita opened the doors. "Muchos gracias"she thought. "MAMA THERES A GUEST!" pepa yelled. "I'm right here pepi-" alma stared at maria. She took a breath "is everything ok señora?" She asked. "Si, los siento, you look like my nieta" she explained With a saddened look in her eyes. "I'm sorry for you all" she replied. "It's fine, do you anywhere to stay?" She asked changing the subject. "Not realy I got here by...different circumstances" she explained when alma saw the injury on her ankle plus the blood and mud and some of her hair fell out from her hood. It was matted and messy. She tucked it back under. "The bathrooms over there, we'll bring some clothes in" julieta explained, she thanked her. "Go, we'll sort your hair afterwards" she nodded slightly afraid of that then went to the bgathroom. She showered quickly and made sure to clean her hair. She g9t out and dried eitu the towel that was brought in. She got into her clothes they were the ones she wore before. She left the room as she gulped. She pulled her hood up ad the entire family was home.
