The two girls opened the nursery door and went downstairs. "Can you do magic?" Mirabel knocked on the table. "SI I can" Maria knocked back. The two had learned some morse code( lemme know if I spelt that right pls) "show me" mirabel pleaded. Maria thinned her lip and looked to the doors. The family were fast asleep still. She looked to the plates then mirabel, she opened her hand and a blue flame appeared. It surrounded the plates and set them all down on the table, made the drinks, set the cutlery down then put the drinks down, she stumbled a little, her horns had somehow changed blue as she did this, they only changed slightly so they didn't notice. "Here" mirabel gave her some water. "I'll be fine" Maria smiled "I dont do it often it took a bit more energy than expected" she explained, "well let's go wake everyone up" mirabel smiled, the two ran upstairs. Lia hid her horns. Mirabel went to knock but Maria stopped her. "Watch" she whispered. She got the back of her hand and hit the door with it three times. Pepa opened the door slightly startled. "Morning señora" Maria smiled then mirabel copied on isabella's door, they heard a bang almost like a body falling. Maria walked to the door. "Why did you-" "I knocked señorita perfecta" she said sternly, "bueñas dias. Hope you slept well" isabella glared at Maria who was clearly un-bothered. "Have you seen yourself lately? Go brush ya hair" she closed the door, mirabel woke alma and dolores as Maria woke up julieta and agustín first. She knocked normally on their door then kicked camilo's open and he jumped out of bed hitting the floor. "What scared you?" He glared "this is war" she just smiled and closed the door as she left. She woke antonio calmly as he was her favourite cousin. Once everyone was at the table they sat down, "tonight we have the guzmans for isabella's engagement" alma explained as she looked to her seat, two animals popped up. "I told thel to warm up your seat" antonio smiled "gracias tonito" alma shooed the animals of then sat down as felix fist bumped antonio. "Maria, the hood?" Alma said agitated. Maria took it down and the adults stared for a few seconds. "If your staring ask a question" she said under her breath. "Sorry you look alot li.ke her" pepa apologised "we don't talk about maria" alma snapped. "Didn't she say i looked like her before?" Maria thought, she shrugged it off. "Dolores, do we have a date?" Dolore tilted her head slightly "tonight, he wants five babies" flowers sprouted in isabella's hair as dolores glares slightly at abuela as she passed. "I'm sure you will bring wonderful blessings to us all" alma said picking the single white flowers from isabella's hair then walked passed. "Maria if I find out your telling those....lies to the children you'll be kicked out" Maria nodded hesitantly, "good, now la familia madrigal" "la familia madrigal!" Everyone started eating. Maria and mirabel continued talking as everyone else did. "I don't think your lying!" Antonio said making everyone look. Maria caught alma glaring. She took a shaky bresth. "Well antonio, I was tell your little friends it was a funny story" "see antonio, she a lia-" Maria dropped her fork and threw her food out" enjoy your meal I'm heading out into town" she leftbthe outdoor table and went to town throwing her hood up. She sat on the wall in town and sighed, she sat on the wall cross-legged as the madrigals came into town "hey" she saw antonio, "I know your not lying, ill tell my friends" she smiled softly. "Gracias antonio" she saw mirabel, "go play" he ran away on his jaguar. Mirabel smiled. "We need to find luisa" she blurted out. Maria stopped moving as her eyes went blank. "S should I-" "path at the other side of town carrying donkeys" she blinked and her eyes returned to their blue colour. The two ran to where Maria said. Luisa was there, "Luisa he- AAH!" Mirabel fell, Maria bit her lip to stop herself laughing. She hopped from the wall and dragged mirsbel. "Luisa! Hey so dolores said you knew something and your eye was twitching and it never twitches!" Maria just zoned out as suddenly "NOTHINGS WRONG" they both froze. "Oh um, sorry..about that" she took a deep breath"nothing wrong, everything fine I'm totally not nervous" she smiled putting her hands on her hips as her eye twitched. "Umm are you sure because-" Maria was cut off by music starting "fu-"

Mirabel hugged luisa, she froze for a moment. "I under-" luisa hugged her back, several cracks came. Luisa said something Maria couldn't hear then"if this is anything start at bruno's tower" she lifted the donkeys and continued her work on her way down the path. Maria and mirabel ran back to casita passing julieta's table shocking the woman who nearly dropped the arepa she was handing out. Maria took it. They ran past the doors throwing them open and raced to the stairs. Maria jumped and landed on the upper floor then they ran to bruno's tower. "Umm wait....what if" Maria pushed her inside "casita can you?" She asked as the tiles moved outside the door "you can't help?" The house moved again. They closed the door and Maria folded her ruana placing it on the sand letting her wings stretch either side of her, "your horns look cool" mirabel smiled flicking a peice of muck from one. Maria rolled her eyes and theh walked to the edge. Mirabel fell down. Maria watched as she rolled and face planted the sand. "Core memory" she said containing her laughter as she flew over to her landing on the sand. Mirabel took her glasses off as sand poured out. She got some from her eye. They looked up seeing the towering stairs over head. "Cya at the top", Maria jumped and flew up "ABANDONER!" She yelled as Maria watched from the top smiling. She watched her younger sister heaving herself up the steps. She flew down. Grabbed her and flew her back up."i hate you" "love you to hermana" she smiled. They looked to the broken bridge down the massive crack. "DAMMIT!" mirabel yelled, Maria walked to the edge, she wasn't gonna lie when she said taking mirabel up took alot of energy. She hadn't flown in months with another person. She grabbed a rope ripping jt from the ground then tied a hole. Mirabel swung it and threw it landing on a statalactite. (Stalagmites but on the roof) "ladies first?" She offered it to Maria. "I'm thankful" she swung across then threw it back. Mirabel just caught it and collapsed hitting the ground. "Ha" Maria snickered then suddenly pulled mirabel towards her "wh-" she heard the rock hit the bottom. "Thanks don't drop me" she smiled. They walked away from the plummet and into the large, dark and sandy tunnel, broken vases layed on the ground with stone monuments of mirabels forgotten uncle. They got to a massive stone door. It was a circle like a vault in movies. Maria opened it and they entered. The large walls reached upwards, just in sight was the roof, small cracks and a large sand circle in the middle with green lights illuminating the darkness. Maria held her hand out as a ball of light appeared. "Useful" mirabel said as they got to the sand circle. "Propably where he did visions." Maria shrugged as mirabel reached down grabbing a peice if the green light, she pulled it out. A glass shard? Mirabel pulled another out and never noticed the cracks growing larger. "M mirabel" Maria said. "Not now" she said sliding the final peice into place. "Me?" She whispered after a silent gasp. "MIRABEL LOOK FOR BLOODY SAKE!" her head shot up to Maria seeing the cracks behind her. She grabbed more peices "Help me!" Maria ran and pulled two out stuffing them into the girls bag as sand seeped into the cracks and the room at a fast pace. Maria and mirabel ran to the door, "it won't open!" Mirabel yelled. Maria banged on the stone door as mirabel ran back. Maria kept hitting it as she felt something surge through her. Suddenly a large band sounded and the door was blasted open. The two girls were swept out in the waves of sand. Maria sputtered sand and stared at mirabel"wha- AAAAH!" she scrambled away from the cliff stepping on lia's stomach making the girl sit up holding it, "Sorry?" She said hesitantly, Maria stood and flapped her wings before wincing. "I im sorry!" Mirabel said but Maria just stopped her "it's a sprain. Give it a day" she smiled softly. Mirabel sighed thanful as the two swung over and mirabel landed! "I don't wanna take the stairs" mirabel complained before seeing Maria's smile. She walked "nooooo" but she followed her anyway. "Trip now I dare you" "nice try"

They left the room, mirabel opened her bag to wich Maria closed it "What are you two doing and...where have yiu been?" She asked taking a bit of sand from Mirabels hair. "Well we were uh-" "IM LOSING MY GIFT!" They turned to luisa when Maria froze. She felt her wings on hwr back, she had hidden her horns.... she stepped beside mirabel letting her injured wing droop. "You forgot" "sh!" "Luisa what are you talking about?" Alma asked as Maria saw a new ruana being thrown. She put it on quickly. It was blue, mirabels spare wich she never wore. "Me and mirabel were having this little talk about me carrying to much so I tried not to carry so much but then I thought I was letting everyone down so I picked up the donkeys to throw them in the shed but when I went to throw them they were" her lip trembled "HEAVY!" She ran of crying. "I don't know what you two said tonight's proposal must go perfect so stop" "howdyou know I-" "if one of you is there so is the other" alma snapped. "Looks like you aren't as blind to your families problems after all" Maria said befitting covering her mouth. Alma glared "Watch your mouth Maria, I will have you exiled"she threatened before going to the stairs. "And whatever you'd doing, stop doing it!" She left. "Why did that hurt?" Maria thought as they walked to mirabels room. She sighed as they started to empty the bag. "Why am I in your vision bruno?" She asked as thunder cracked. Tia pepa entered the room.
