Six And A Half

Y/n pov

It was so boring in the naptime room. There was nothing to do. Moon wouldn't let me leave under any circumstances. Even if I was hungry, he would just give me one of those candies that are advertised everywhere in the daycare.

So, I did what any normal person would do. I snuck out without him knowing. He was too busy doing whatever he does, so I quietly but quickly left.

I was basically blinded when I walked in the light. I quickly closed the door, but it made a thud sound. It wasn't loud at all, but, he still might have noticed.

"Y/n?"

I flinch when a mysterious voice calls my name. But, I relax when I find out it's just Sun.

"What are you doing here? I thought Moon made it very clear you were staying with him."

I take a few steps closer to him, away from the door.

"Well... I snuck out behind his back..."

His eyes get wide and his expression changes to a nervous one.

"I-I don't think you should have done that..."

"Why not?"

He opened his mouth to say something, but was cut off when someone knocked on the daycare doors.

"Come in!"

The door opens, revealing a woman with long blonde hair in a...low ponytail...

Oh no...

"Oh! Officer Vanessa!"

Vanessa... So that's her name...

"Hi Sun. I just came here to drop off so-"

She freezes up when she sees me.

"Officer Vanessa! You look hurt!"

She doesn't say a word. She just continues staring at me. I grab Sun's arm to get his attention. He must have noticed me shaking, because he instantly got a worried expression.

He bends down a bit so I could whisper to him.

"She's the one who stabbed me..."

He tenses up and looks back at the direction of where Vanessa was. But...

She was gone

I instantly let go of Sun and run back to the naptime room. I felt safe in there. I open the door and see Moon standing in the corner of the room.

"Starlight! Where were yo-"

He gets interrupted when I tackle him to the ground in a tight hug, my face buried in his chest. He doesn't get angry. He doesn't get confused. He just hugs me back. He strokes my hair and holds me tight, trying to comfort me.

"It's ok... I'm here... You're safe now"

He kisses my head and lifts my chin up so I'm looking at him.

"What's wrong?"

"Vanessa was her name. She was the one who hurt me..."

His eyes widen and he holds me more firmly.

"Where is she"

It was more of a demand then a question.

"I don't know! She just disappeared!"

He wraps his tail around me tightly, but not too tight.

"Do you...still want to leave?"

"No..."
