Into the room stepped 3 individuals Marlene, an adult male, and an adult female. Marlene collapsed to the floor, the man going to help her up. Before you could tell her to stop, Ellie lunged forward. Switchblade in hand, "Get the fuck away from her!!" She shouted and started making her way towards the man. The woman intervening.

They softly grabbed Ellie's shoulder and pulled them a little back, pulling the switchblade away from her. "Let her go," Marlene instructed. Handing the switchblade back to her, they removed their hands from her shoulder. The man returned his attention to Marlene, "You're recruitin' kind of young. Aren't ya?" He asked.

"She's not one of mine," Marlene quickly shot down, rising to her feet. They stridden over to her and helped her keep balance. "Shit," Ellie cursed, walking over to Marlene and helping [Y/N] sit her against a barricade. "What happened?" [Y/N] asked, they could feel eyes burning into their skull, they turned their head slightly to note that the adult male was staring at them with no remorse.

"Don't worry, this is fixable," Marlene dodged the question, leaning against the barricade. Marlene turned her head toward [Y/N], "I got us help," she started "but I can't come with you," before [Y/N] could even respond Ellie cuts in. "Well then I'm staying," she said, clearly not wanting to leave her friend. [Y/N] put their hand on her shoulder, "Ellie, we won't get another shot at this," they spoke softly to the young girl.

The man stepped up behind them pointing at Ellie, staring Marlene dead in the eyes. "Hey- We're smuggling her?" He said, no signs of pleasant surprise in his tone at all. "There's a crew of firefly's that'll meet you at the capital building," Marlene said nodding her head towards him. After being silent the whole time the woman spoke up, "That's not exactly close,"

"You're capable." Marlene shot back, if she went out, she'd for sure be killed. "You hand her off, come back, the weapons are yours," she added to her previous statement, "Double what Robert sold me," The man had his back turned to everyone, probably wondering how he got in this mess. "Speaking of which- where are they?" She inquired, shooting daggers into Marlene.

"Back at our camp," [Y/N] answered, not spoke in awhile. The man turned towards them again, eyeing them suspiciously. He scoffs a moment later then crosses his arms over his chest, "We're not smuggling shit until I see them," the woman said, [Y/N] and the adult male seemed to be locked into a staring contest. Suspicion of what the other may or may not do. Ellie looking between everyone.

"You'll follow me," Marlene said leaning a bit onto a discarded counter, "You can verify the weapons, I can get patched up," She stated, looking towards her crimson side. She pointed a free hand at Ellie, "but she's not crossing to that part of town," she glared at the woman. "I want Joel and [Y/N] to watch over her," she said pointing towards the man. "Whoa, Whoa, I don't think that's the best idea," [Y/N], Joel, and Ellie started protesting.

"Bullshit! Im not going with him." The young girl shouted, "Ellie..." Marlene cut her off. [Y/N] scoffs, "How do you know them?" They asked crossing their arms over their chest. "I was close with his brother, Tommy." She nodded towards the man now known as Joel. "Said if I was ever in a jam I could rely on him." She said looking into [Y/N]'s eyes.

"Was that before or after he left your little militia group?" Joel inquired. Ellie turned towards him. "He left you too," Marlene retorted. "He was a good man," she added. The woman steps over to Joel and seems to start having a conversation with him, Joel waved a hand in dismissal and turned his back towards the group once again. "Marlene.." Ellie started but Marlene cut her off, "No more talking."  She said shaking her head. [Y/N] put a hand on Ellie's shoulder, "We'll be fine," they said smiling at the young girl reassuringly.

"Now go with him," Marlene said standing up with a grunt. "Don't take long," Joel said to the woman, looking her in the eyes. "and you two, stay close." He said pointing fingers at them. [Y/N] scoffed a little and grabbed Ellie by the hand, leading her along softly. They looked back at Marlene for one final time. Stepping outside..
