For what seemed like an eternity, they were making jumps, skips, flips, tumbles, and every kind of thing that made Diana dizzy. Skipping was the easiest part, but when they started to learn how to roll on the floor, now that was hard. Diana ended up with back pain. It was not childlike rollovers, but rolls you would make after landing from a vault. Standing up was the hardest part, though. At one moment, she almost lost her balance and fell on her face.

By 10:30 a.m., Jordyn called everyone to the center of the room. Diana looked at Isabella, whose hair was flawless. Her bun was as clean and tight as it had been since breakfast. On the other hand, Diana had to remake her ponytail a thousand times.

"Great work, ladies," Jordyn said, grabbing her clipboard. "Now, as you might already know, the objective of Parkour is to arrive from one place to another, as fast as possible, going through different obstacles. Throughout this summer, you'll learn techniques to master floors, vaults, walls and bars, and hiking, with the goal of joining them all together and completing a circuit."

Diana listened to this and she couldn't help but remember the time she was in gymnastics. A chill went down her spine. When she was young, probably around 5 or 6 years old, her father signed her up for afternoon gymnastics classes. She hated it. She never managed to roll over a bar, nor jump like the other girls. It arrived at the point where the teacher assigned little Diana the role of giving out stickers to her classmates instead of doing the exercises. At the summer competition, Diana planned on doing every exercise in the worst way possible to make her father mad. It worked, and he got her out of gymnastics.

"So, let's see who can give us a demonstration of a circuit," Jordyn said, analyzing her clipboard.

"Please tell me she's not choosing at random," Diana whispered to Isabella, but before she could get an answer, Jordyn spoke.

"Johanna and Diana!" She exclaimed, looking up from her clipboard with a mischievous grin. "That rhymed."

Diana didn't like Jordyn anymore.

"No shit that was random, did you see her face?" Diana whispered.

"That's what I was going to tell you. Jordyn knows every Amazon," Isabella whispered back.

"Come on girls, let's see who gets to the hiking wall first," she said, making a gesture to the rest of the group to clear the floor.

"You'll make it, good luck," Isabella whispered to Diana, giving her a squeeze to her hand before leaving with the others.

Diana took a deep breath. She turned around to see Johanna standing beside her. She made a discrete eye roll and smirked indignantly.

"Jeez," Diana whispered, preparing her position to run.

"On my count!" Jordyn started "One...two...NOW!"

Diana just ran straight ahead toward a set of vaults, and from the corner of her eye, she saw Johanna outrun her. She could hear some Amazons cheering. Johanna jumped, climbed, and ran like a cheetah. When Diana landed after climbing the first vault, Johanna was way ahead of her.

You're not winning this, bitch, Diana thought. Out of nowhere, she found the strength enough to reach Johanna at another vault. The difference was that Johanna seemed perfectly fine, and Diana was panting, her face completely red and sweaty, and she had the sensation that her limbs were on fire.

Johanna looked behind her shoulder and chuckled mockingly. When Diana placed her foot on one crack to help her climb toward the top of a vault, Johanna kicked her fingers, making Diana grunt with pain, lose her balance, and fall. She landed on the pool of sponges, which luckily was just below her. Diana heard as the Amazons cheered: Johanna had reached the end of the circuit.
