"Come on Ryan, you know my dad is not going to let me go," Diana complained as she walked down the University's stairs alongside her friends.

Paige, her best friend since high school, chuckled beside her "I can drive you there, hon".

Diana rolled her eyes "It is not about who is driving me, but the place. My father is not going to let me go to a bar. You know how paranoid he is; he barely lets me go out". They arrived at the University's meeting hall.

"Well, let's at least plan something chill," Ryan said, winking at Paige.

"Maybe tomorrow would be nice," Diana agreed. "What about that Shake Shack that recently opened?" her eyes sparkled when thinking of food.

"Sounds perfect for me," Ryan said as they approached a bench and Diana and him sat down.

"Gotta go guys, I need to take my sister to ballet class. But, let me know if the plan still stands," Paige waved goodbye and walked towards the parking lot.

Ryan and Diana stayed silent while they watched a wave of people walking out of the classrooms. It was May 26th, the last day of final exams. Second semester was over. Diana still couldn't believe she had passed her first University year with excellent grades.

She turned to face Ryan. She had met him in high school, too, and they had been friends ever since. Ryan was looking at her, smiling with his lips, never showing teeth.

"What are you looking at, idiot?" Diana laughed. Ryan shrugged.

"I was just thinking about all the things we can do together this summer," he said. His dark green eyes were so pungent sometimes that they sent chills down Diana's spine.

"Right," Diana cleared her throat. "I was thinking about applying to a nursery for a summer job, and if that doesn't go as planned, working as a nanny would be more than fine," she said, knowing very well Ryan was going to laugh. But she was serious. There was no better summer job than to spend time with little, sweet kids. Every time she saw a family with kids walking down the street, she smiled to herself and repeated that Education was the best major she could've chosen.

Ryan clicked his tongue "Pass".

Diana received a notification on her phone. It was her dad, telling her he was waiting for her at the drop-off.

"Seriously, think about it. Spending the day with little kids that want you to hold them and play with them..." Diana sighed with dreamy eyes. Ryan laughed and shook his head.

"I'd rather die," he said.

"Yeah, whatever " Diana stood up and picked up her backpack. "My dad's here. See you tomorrow, then?"

Ryan stood up at the same time as her. He smiled and did something so unusual Diana startled: he leaned forward and kissed her cheek. She felt her blood rushing towards her face. Ryan stood in front of her with his playful smile.

"See you tomorrow, Moon Girl," he said goodbye using the nickname he had given her years ago, referring to the necklace she never took off.

"How was your last exam?" Diana's father asked as they sat at the dining table, eating pizza to celebrate the end of the semester.

"Good, I guess. My mind went totally blank when the professor asked me the question in the verbal part. But he helped me out a little and I remembered the answer," she said, chuckling and taking a bite of her pizza.
