Chapter 4

Elena opened her eyes focusing on the small details of design on the ceiling before pushing herself to get out of the bed. She stretched with a yawn and groggily wiped her eyes. When her vision became clear again she jumped when she made eye contact with a smirking Kai, who happened to be seated across the room in a chair she recognized from the kitchen.

"What the hell Kai!?" She yelled in exasperation.

"Nice pajamas." Her remarked, his devilish grin growing wider. Elena looked down at herself in confusion trying to figure out what was so amusing to the warlock. Elena literally ripped the comforter off the bed to cover herself when it registered that her "pajamas" were nothing but her bra and underwear.

"What are you even doing in here?" She asked, her cheeks tinting bright red as she shifted from her right leg to her left in discomfort.

"Well, I've been up for a while. Kind of hard to sleep in this place now. I had a bowl of cereal, watched horrible TV and then I got bored. Then I thought, 'Hey maybe I should see what Elena was up to.' Then I got up here and you were still sleep, so instead of waking you up and you trying to murder me I decided to just wait until you got up." He explained folding his arms across his chest and leaning back in the chair he sat on.

"Correct me if I'm wrong, but you basically decided since you were bored, that the only form of entertainment you could find in this mansion full of things to do was watch me sleep?" She asked him slowly, eyebrows raised in disbelief.

"Well it was fun at first, but then you started snoring and things kind of went downhill." He shrugged nonchalantly nodding off into space.

"Kai?" Elena started dragging him out of his daze.

"Huh?"

"That's weird." She finished referring back to him watching her sleep.

"Yeah, I know. I mean personally I didn't expect you to snore. At one point it got so loud, I started planning different ways to kill you so you would stop."

She glared at him before snatching her clothes off the dresser, and marching into the bathroom. Twenty minutes into her shower, Kai started banging on the door whining for her to hurry up.

After a purposely long shower, Elena winced in pain when she opened the bathroom door and collided with the devil himself.
