CHAPTER 6, THE HUNT
𝕿𝖍𝖗𝖊𝖊 𝖄𝖊𝖆𝖗𝖘 𝕷𝖆𝖙𝖊𝖗
𝕿hree years had passed since the faithful marriage incident had occurred, and Rhaenyra was as angry as ever. She spent less time around her father, lest it was for council meetings. Alaenna was much of the same as always, simply older. Where Rhaenyra went, she was never too far. If she wasn't with Rhaenyra, she visited Aegon, who was always corralled by ladies instead of his mother. She thought it sad that Alicent hadn't seemed to care for him the way her mother cared for her and Rhaenyra.
Now they lie within the Godswood, Alaenna's head on Rhaenyra's lap while her sister read some book to her. Her gentle reading was accompanied by some poor minstrel Rhaenyra had dragged with them. Alaenna loved the arts but felt terrible for the poor man.
"Under the dragon's eye. Under the dragon's eye." He finished the last verse of his song, looking around the bend of the tree they'd all sat under.
