CHAPTER 12, TO BE OR NOT TO BE
𝕾ome time had passed since the agreement made by both houses, Velaryon and Targaryen.
The wedding preparations came faster than Alaina had thought possible. It seemed everyone was working at every given moment. Even Alaenna's ladies were busy finding dresses and jewelry for Alaenna to wear.
The celebrations would take over a week—a show of strength and wealth for both houses. The night of the banquet was the first moment of peace Rhaenyra, and Alaenna had seen all week. All they had to do was look pretty and attend, which was easy enough given their natural beauty.
This would be the first time in a while that Alaenna would be seen wearing red. Since her mother's passing, she took to shades of blue and white, remembering her mother's lineage in the Vale. It was only occasioned such as these where household unity was paramount.
Her hair was down and adorned with tiny red jewels, much like Rhaenyra's would be. It seemed all too real that her sister would be getting married as they stood outside the giant doors of the throne room.
