Ash's pov:

I'm ash Ketchum, the prince of Pallet city. Im 22 years old. My father Albert Ketchum is ruling the city. I love my parents, they never forced me to do anything. I love them until my mother starts talking about my marriage. She won't stop nagging me about my marriage saying I'm getting old. But I want to marry someone I love.....

I woke up and get a bath before I went downstairs to meet my father.

"Good morning father!" I said.

"Good morning son!" He smiled.

Then my father's butler came.

"Your majesty, I'm here to remain you that you have to go for a 'society check' today" he explained while bowing.

[Society check means king or prince disguise as one of the normal people in the city and roam around to check the needs, people's behavior and something like that (I made this up)]

'Society check?! I hate this more than anything, roam around the city without anything fun to do, it's so boring! I have went only once in the city like that but ended up sleeping on the cold floor and I caught fever and cold.' I thought.

"I remember, thank you" father said.

Butler bowed and walked away.

After an hour

My father is ready, he looked just like one of the citizen of Pallet city. I could barely recognize him.

"Hey son! How do I look?" He asked me.

"You look amazing father!" I smiled.

Then butler came and bowed.

"What is it?" My father asked.

"Your majesty, the dam has started cracking and the water is leaking too" he said.

"That's a big problem! I need to go there but...." he stopped remembering his Society check duty.

Then he looked at me.

'Oh no!' I thought.

"Son how about you do it?" He asked me.

"But father" I started "I Don't like it"

"You are now grown up now son, you need to take responsibility at some point" he said.

I Don't know what to do. I just nodded my head slowly.

"Great!" He smiled. "Let's us go to the dam"

After saying this he and the butler left.

I went to change my clothes. After I changed it I looked in the mirror and sighed.

I was going downstairs then I met my best friend gary.

"Hi gary"

"Hi ash....." he looked at me up and down.

"You are going on a Society check?" He asked.

"My father made me to" I sighed.

"It's okay ash, just few hours you can do it" he encouraged me.

Wait! He is encouraging me! That's unlike gary.

I raised my eyebrows at him. Then he brust out laughing.

"Yo...you look li..like a beg...begger" he said in middle of his laughter.
