Wind swept through her hair as she perched herself up on the railings of the balcony, she watched the lights flickering from the people below, the night seemed to awaken a different breed of person.People laughed and ran among the streets of Flea bottom, while people up in the keep either retired to their bedchambers or thought it best to continue on with their plots.
It was the perfect moment to discuss delicate matters in privacy, with the moon shining bright in the sky the only witness to truly be seen, but the fact was that the red keep had eyes and ears in the walls, you never knew who could be listening.
She waited patiently as she continued to stare out into the lives of others, watching as they bustled about and she could almost swear she could hear their laughter from where she sat.
She remained in her position as she felt the familiar presence of another behind her, slow breathing was heard, along with the padding of footsteps, as her sister decided to take a seat beside her, turning her attention towards the view.
"You know I am quite jealous of you" Alysannes head turned ever so slightly to face her sister, her eyebrows furrowed together.
"And why might that be"
"You have this ability, this gift that makes you able to see what is to happen, to have an upper hand and to never feel so vulnerable as to not know what is to come. You know what to say and how to act, when I find myself unable to control the anger I feel, or know whether or not I would be able to wear the crown well."
She watched as Rhaenyras eyes glistened in the moonlight, her eyes were cast down as she uttered her doubts, taking her sister's hand into her own she gave it a firm squeeze.
"I understand your doubts Rhaenyra but you have to know that having these so called gifts are not all it's cracked up to be, I am plagued with these dreams of what is to come, yet I cannot do much to alter them. I have seen almost every member of my family die, along with those I love, I have seen anguish and heartbreak, never of my own but others. Sometimes I do not see the true extent of a dream before it is too late. The thought of what ifs always surround me, especially with others trying to dissect every little thing I tell them about the future."
Alysanne let out a small laugh as tears ran down her face "The truth is that I am scared too, I am worried for what will come true and what will not. You will be a good queen sister, you are the true heir, the one our father deemed worthy, you may not have the correct training but allow your council to help train you, no ruler is perfect just look at our ancestors before us."
The two girls let out another choked laugh between them, as they allowed themselves to embrace.
"A storm has been brewing for sometime now and in the morning it shall hit, you have to promise me you will do what you need to, to ensure the safety of your family, send out messengers to all of your allies, rally every Lord and Lady to fight alongside you, the true heir."
