Discovery

Mary let out a small yawn as the night grew closer. Peter nudged Mary's shoulder with his to get her attention.

"are you ready for be to?" He asked as everyone continued yelling and laughing.

Mary only nodded and the exhaustion hit her even more as she rose to her feet. The two walked out of the room with ease since all the adults were to drunk and having to much of a good time to notice. Peter and Mary walked through the halls till they reached their room. It felt weird to them walking through halls together. In the Lab they were always in lines, and now the two are walking shoulder to shoulder with one another.

"why haven't you grown out your hair since you got out?" Peter asked as he opened the bedroom door.

"I don't know i guess it just feels weird when its longer...i mean I've had the same buzz cut since i was 4.." Mary said as she sat on the bed.

"i guess i was lucky I wasn't there as long as you were.. right when i got out i started growing it out.."

Mary let out a soft chuckle before laying down on the right side of the bed. Peter smiled before going to the left side of the bed after shutting off the lights. The room wasn't completely dark, it had a built in emergency light that stayed on all the time in case anything were to happen.

"mary.."

"mhm..'

"im glad i found you.."

"im glad you found me to.."

"How's the blood.." rick asked the ginger host.

"I would say no surprises but two of the kids...their blood is.. different..." the man said.

"how so?" Rick asked his face contorting.

"i don't know.. i mean I've been a scientist since i was 23 and i have never seen this kind of anomaly in a child's blood before.."

"well what is it?"

"That's the thing i dont know! Those kids their different.."

"shane told me his niece was a lab rat.."

"which lab?"

"i have no clue.. he's never told me." Rick answers as he fell back drunkenly against a desk. The man nods and looks back at the samples on the computer.

Peter woke up before Mary and began looking for a change of clothes for both of them. None of the clothes were exactly their size but Peter found some that worked. He went to the bathroom to get changed and brush his teeth before sitting on the couch with his book and reading. Twenty minutes later Mary starts to move around. Peter looks up to see the young girls eyes flutter open. Mary slowly sat up and rubbed her eyes. It took her a second to adjust to her surroundings, and in that time Peter was staring at her in awe. He always thought Mary was beautiful ever since their first interaction in the rainbow room back in Hawkins Lab.

"morning.." Mary grumbled as she looked over at Peter who was still staring at her.

"...morning..." He said back as he quickly looked back down at his book. "There's some clothes on the dresser for you.."

Mary slowly stood up and grabbed the clothes as she made her way to the bathroom. After 5 minutes the girl came out of the bathroom and sat next to Peter leaning against him and listening to him quietly read to himself. After 15 minutes the two heard a knock at the door.

"come in." Mary said as she sat  up.

Daryl emerges from the door entrance and motions for them to follow.
