It was the morning of the coronation

It was the morning of the coronation. The sun was shining, the birds were singing — everything appeared to be great by first glance.

Elodie King woke with mascara stains and messy hair. She was still in yesterdays outfit, having had no motivation to do her nightly routine.

Peeling herself from the comforting warmth of her duvet, she felt empty. There was no fiery spark that challenged her to keep going, to push through. All there was was a dull ache.

Fairy Godmother had made arrangements for Elodie to see her fathers body before it was sent off to be preserved for the museum the morning of the coronation, which was today.

Her bones felt heavy as she slowly walked to her new bathroom and she flipped on the lights. The bright light temporary blinded her, and when she looked in the mirror, the redhead was taken aback by her appearance.

Elodie turned on her shower, cold turning into warm, and after undressing, she stepped in. Mindlessly washing her hair, shaving, and washing her body, her mind was plagued by unwanted thoughts.

Turning the crystal knob back to off, she stepped out, wrapping a towel around herself before moisturizing her face and body.

Elodie didn't bother with makeup, as if she did, she would take it all off before reapplying for the coronation. She pulled on grey sweatpants and a red hoody before tying her hair back into a messy low bun.

As she shut and locked her dorm up, an overwhelming sense of dread came over her, not knowing what to expect when at the hospital. Fairy Godmother was waiting for her by the staircase, and they walked side by side all the way down and out to the car transporting the redhead to and from the hospital.

Before getting into the car, Elodie did a once-over of the school before her eyes came across Ben giving an interview. She could hear some of the questions being asked and answered, all of them concerning the incident from yesterday. The redhead could also hear Ben trying to answer them as simply as he could, not giving away too much information.

Finally getting into the car, the driver shut it behind her, and the redhead noticed it was the same guy who picked them up from the isle. She followed his movements and watched as he got into the drivers seat.

"The jackal has landed." He said, remember the code he used to picked up the five VK's, though he didn't have any commentary from Elodie this time.

The driver started the car and soon they were off, Elodie watching as the trees and landscapes flew by in a blur. It didn't take long for them to come across buildings and houses and other smaller castles.

It was an approximately thirty minute drive from Auradon Prep to the hospital, and that may seem like a lot, but considering that there is a school nurse for injury's, students don't normally go to the hospital.

The car came to a slow stop in front of a large white building, one that could be easily be recognized as a hospital to anyone in the United States of Auradon, but not to a citizen of the Isle. The driver hopped out of the car and walked around to Elodie's door, opening it for her.
