A blonde woman, who you later learned was JJ, presented the case. 6 bodies found within 4 weeks in a small town in Wisconsin and they waited until another woman went missing to call the FBI. All of the women has their hair dyed red before they died, were wearing similar clothing, were raped and then stabbed to death. The main signature of the killer was the dying of the victims hair. What was its significance? You pondered the thoughts and images in your head for a moment as you looked through your file."Wheels up in 30." Hotch announced as he stood from the table.
Your first day of work seemed to be getting crazier by the second. You made sure you had everything you needed for the trip before heading out the door. You didn't feel like you were struggling with your clothes bag, briefcase, and purse, but evidently it looked like it. And all of a sudden you felt weigh lift off your shoulder and turned around to see a handsome, muscular black man carrying your bag for you.
"Well you must be Agent Derek Morgan that I've heard so many wonderful things about."
"And you must be the newbie Hotch recruited. I see you've already met Reid." Morgan winked at you and you blushed at how stupid you looked in front of Spencer.
"Oh yeah" you laughed. "He's a nice guy. He made one heck of a first impression. All he did was spout off crazy facts and statistics."
Morgan laughed "You get used to it. That all he ever does."
A woman brightly dressed with bouncy blonde curls came up next to you and playfully said "Back off sister. Chocolate thunder is all mine." And she winked at Morgan.
"Hey BabyGirl. Don't worry about that." He whispered something to her that you couldn't quite hear, but her eyebrows and facial expressions proved that it was about you and Reid.
The more you thought about Reid, you realized you hadn't really talked to him. You were scared to. Why? You had talked to attractive men before. You just talked to Derek Morgan. What was it about Spencer Reid that made it so hard? Was it that he was smart enough to read into your soul? Or was it that he seemed so sweetly innocent that he might feel pity towards your a horrid past? Despite whether or not you embraced any feelings toward him didn't matter. This was work. And it had to be done.
You quickly shook off any fear and entered the plane. You took a seat next to Reid because he had saved the seat for you. The two of you talked over the case and the possibilities of the unsub. It was fascinating to see how much he knew and the different perspectives he could take. It was invigorating to see his eyes light up with passion when talking about the scenarios. And with each passing moment, you found yourself casually bonding with Spencer, and you both seemed to be enjoying it.
