I woke up and saw that Ellie was still sleeping, so I let her sleep a bit more trying to not wake her up while I was preparing myself. After I get dressed, Ellie woke up, so I sat on the bed again and said

"Good morning"

"Good morning you too" She said yawning

She got up and sat next to me while rubbing her eyes, then she looked at me

"Are you ready yet? Did you sleep at least?" She said surprised

"Yeah, I woke up earlier just to see how cute you are while sleeping" I replied making her chuckle a bit

She went to get ready and after a few minutes she was ready to go.

"Phil?" She said, as she saw me staring into space

"Yeah?" I replied while looking at her

"Today you're gonna meet Jesse and Dina."

"Sounds cool! But I'm starving, what do you think if we meet them after having breakfast?" I said

"Uhm ok, that's fine, we can go to the diner and then meet them" She replied

---Time Skip---

We were heading to the diner to have breakfast before meeting Jesse and Dina, when we saw them, so we stopped to greet and meeting them.

"Hey, what's up guys?" Ellie said

"Ellie, good morning!" Jesse and Dina replied

"Guys, I introduce you him, his name's Phil" She said while me and Jesse shook our hands

"I'm Jesse" He said

"I'm Dina" She said while shaking my hand

"I'm Phil, nice to meet you guys!" I said

"You know, Ellie talked a lot about you, from what she said you seem a nice person" Jesse added

"Really? Thank you" I said blushing a little

Ellie put a hand on my shoulder and I put my arm around her waist as we started walking towards the diner, but I felt something strange in the air. As I turned towards them I saw Dina giving me a dirty look, so I thought

'Maybe she doesn't like me? What did I do wrong?'

I was not following what they were saying, I was still thinking about Dina's dirty look while staring into space. At one point Jesse asked us

"You guys will be at the party tomorrow night right?"

Ellie looked at me waving an hand in front of my face

"Phil everything okay?" She asked

"Uh? Sorry I wasn't listening" I replied

"Anyway yes Jesse, we will be at the party tomorrow night" Ellie said

"Great! See you later then" Jesse replied as he and Dina were leaving

We finished the conversation and they went away, while me and Ellie entered the diner to have breakfast.

We both took a croissant for breakfast, and we sat down at a table to eat them.

"Sorry, at that time I was in the clouds. What did he asked?" I said

"Don't worry for that. Anyway he asked if we will be at tomorrow's night party" She replied

"Oh my god, are you asking me out Ellie Williams?" She blushed a little and said

"Oh fuck you"

"Fuck you too" I know that she says it in a playful way so I didn't worry about it

After a moment of silence she broke it

"So what do you think of them?" Ellie asked me

"Those croissants are so good! They have a nice taste!" I said

"No- I mean about Jesse and Dina dumbass!" She chuckled at me

"They seems good as well" I said and then added

"Just take away a curiosity from me"

"Yeah sure!" She replied

"Do you think Dina doesn't like me?"

"I don't know, but why?" She asked

"Because she gave me a dirty look as I put my arm around your waist" I said

"Oh- It's just because. . ." She replied

"It's just because ok, but what?" I asked her to continue the sentence

"Well she likes me- But there's nothing between us- I mean. . ." She said

I stayed silent for a bit while finishing my croissant, I was about to speak but she preceded me saying

"Is everything okay Phil?"

"Uhm- yeah" I said as it burned me inside

We finished to have breakfast and we went out the diner.

'Well she likes me- But there's nothing between us. . .' I thought at that

I was troubled by that sentence; it haunted my mind all day as if it were a ghost

'Maybe it's not even like that,' I thought

But I still couldn't forget that dirty look, damn really freezing
