Paige was at the concert along with thousands of others. Madeline was nowhere in sight. As the band started to play and the lights dimmed, Paige felt an excitement come over her.
Then a silhouette appeared on stage and her heart started pounding faster and faster. The silhouette started moving towards her.
"Paige Stevenson, I've been waiting for you", Wyatt Mason spoke.
Paige's eyes opened wide with shock, but her nerves got the best of her.
Paige sat up startled and feeling very unusual. That dream had felt so real and yes, she had wanted it to be real. She didn't know why she woke up, but she had. She reaches for her nightstand and look at the time on her phone. It read two thirteen.
"Ugh," she sighed, "guess I won't be getting any beauty sleep".
She hopped up and went to grab a book from her little shelf in the corner. Paige loved to read and always found it soothing. She was hoping that as she read a little, she would relax enough to get back to sleep.
She grabbed a fiction novel she'd read over ten times and positioned herself comfortably back in her bed. She turned on her side light, producing a soft glow in the bedroom. She opened the book and started to dive in. Luckily, within the hour, Paige's mind was taken far away, and she drifted into a deep sleep.
The soft beep of her alarm woke Paige up. She was grateful that she had fallen back asleep. Today wouldn't be as memorable if she hadn't gotten a good night's rest.
The concert started at seven o'clock p.m. and Madeline and Paige decided that they wanted to get something to eat before. So, they planned on leaving at two to make their way down to Denver, have time to eat, and be outside the doors by five o'clock.
Paige climbed out of bed and went downstairs to eat some breakfast. Her mom was sitting at the kitchen table, reading the newspaper, and drinking a warm cup of coffee.
"Well, good morning sleeping beauty", her mother teased, "I thought you weren't going to wake up...it's already nine thirty."
Paige sighed as she made her way to the counter to see what her mom had made for breakfast.
"I kept some cinnamon French toast for you, it's covered there on the counter. There was some eggs and bacon, but your brothers ate it all."
Paige had two brothers. One that was nineteen, Preston, and one that was seventeen, Peyton. Preston was home from the University of Northern Colorado, where Paige would be attending in the fall. And Peyton was going to be a senior at Loveland High. Paige was close to her brothers, but they also always had their fair share of disagreements, especially when it came to them eating all the food.
Paige took her plate of French toast and got some cut up fruit from the fridge and a nice tall glass of orange juice. She dug in and thanked her mom for the delicious breakfast.
Madeline showed up to Paige's house at noon. She had a couple of bags with her, that were filled with makeup, hair products, and beauty tools. Paige had just hopped out of the shower when Madeline entered the room.
"Oh perfect, you are all ready for your makeover!", Madeline squealed excitedly.
Madeline turned on Wyatt Mason's recent album and sat Paige down on her vanity stool and started to get to work. Madeline started with Paige's hair which was going to take the longest. She had her curing wand in hand and started curling Paige's hair strand by strand.
Forty minutes go by, and she finishes curling the last piece of Paige's hair. Then she separates some pieces to pull into a waterwall braid. She pins that off and gets started on Paige's makeup.
